Anjung Spotter at KLIA, Sepang
Hear us out. It may seem hard to connect aeroplanes with romance, but films like Love Actually tell us otherwise. If you agree and are looking to plan a unique date that feels like something out of the movies, there’s Anjung Spotter in Malaysia. It’s the country’s first official outdoor plane-spotting deck at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), where you can watch aeroplanes arrive and depart at sunset with your bae or bestie, or the kiddos.

If you’re keen on snapping some photos, a camera or phone with a good zoom function is recommended. Otherwise, it’s just a fascinating watch with the naked eye. For the best experience, time your visit around sunrise between 7am and 9am, or just before sunset from 5pm to 7pm when the soft golden lighting hits just right and the runway gets a little busier. If you’re after a quieter moment with fewer crowds, try heading there on a weekday.
