Behind all this pastel beauty is the pastry mind of founder Victor Yap. “I love peaches, and I have ever since I was young“, he shared with The SmartLocal Malaysia. After spending years in the UK mastering the art of European pastries, he returned home with both the skill and the sweetness to match.
His lifelong love for peaches inspired the name Apricot, and the menu reflects that passion through gentle flavours and a touch of whimsy.
The moment you step inside, one thing instantly steals the spotlight, and it is the Dessert Tree. Layered with an entire spread of cakes and pastries, it feels a little like walking into a patisserie fantasy where you get to pick and have your chosen treats delivered straight to your table.

But the show does not stop there. The real magic happens when warm custard is poured over your cake right at the table, turning dessert into a full-on performance. It is theatrically indulgent, and you will absolutely want to whip out your phone before taking that first bite.
A flavourful menu
The cakes at Apricot are carefully crafted to feel like a little moment of joy. The classic Victoria Sponge (RM19) is a must-try with its buttery layers filled with homemade berry jam and topped with butter icing.
The Apricot Velvet (RM24) is a crowd-favourite, boasting a plush crumb and smooth cream cheese frosting that hits just the right note of sweetness.
For something homier, the Hummingbird Cake (RM19) brings a Southern classic to KL with banana, pineapple, coconut, and toasted seeds baked into a tender slice that feels comforting from the very first forkful.
Alongside the sweets, Apricot’s savoury dishes are just as carefully crafted and full of flavour. The Peaches and Cream Pizza (RM35) is playful, sweet, savoury, and wonderfully fragrant.
A hand-stretched base bakes to a golden crisp before being topped with smooth ricotta, warm grilled peaches, roasted pecans, pomegranate seeds, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of thyme. It is colourful, indulgent, and easily one of Apricot’s most unique creations.
Those who prefer something creamy will love the Salmon Alfredo (RM46) with its soft fillet coated in a lemon caper butter sauce made with shallots, garlic, and fresh lemon. It comes with silky mashed potatoes made with cream and butter, which ties the whole dish together.
