The Autonomous Electric Bus – also known as AEV – is Putrajaya’s autonomous feeder bus service that underwent rigorous pilot tests by eMooVit in 2024 before a public trial was launched to the public, covering 6.5km of road in the city.
If you’re wondering just how smart the buses are, the buses feature three layers of sensors – a light detection and ranging system called Lidar, radio detection and ranging radars, and 360° cameras – that all work together so they can run on the road without a driver in the front seat. The driverless buses can detect lanes, obstacles, traffic signals, and pedestrians on their own.

On 7th October 2026, Perbadanan Putrajaya announced that the AEV was officially launched to the public.
