Awan Cactus is a Mediterranean-style homestay located along the coast of Kuala Dungun. It’s about an hour’s drive from Kuala Terengganu, the capital city of Terengganu. This simple yet stylish-looking house is a close match to the white cliff-top buildings that you’d see in Santorini, Greece.

The homestay gives off a calm and serene feel both on the outside and inside, helping you switch to holiday mode right as you enter the building. It’s tastefully decorated with cactuses – along with woven rattan mats, rattan baskets and chairs, and dried palm leaves on roofs – that altogether give off a modern kampung vibe.

Meanwhile, the three-bedroom Cactus unit starts at RM770 per night. The amenities at this unit are similar to those of Awan’s, but the slightly higher price per night gets you an additional room with six adults and nine children able to spend a comfortable weekend in this house.
The interior of both houses is set up very much like the outside. It has a minimalistic feel to it and is decorated with rattan furnishings – ideal for those who enjoy relaxing in a simple yet sophisticated space, as it gives off major chill vibes to put you in a holiday mood.
