Traffic jams expected In Bukit Jalil on 26th April
Malaysians are used to the typical crawls on roads in Kuala Lumpur, even on the weekends as we head out to lepak. But come 26th April 2025, road users in KL’s Bukit Jalil will have to brace themselves for even heavier traffic.
This comes as the Malaysia Cup final is set to be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium, on the same day that legendary rock icon Datuk Amy Search performs at Axiata Arena.
Over 100,000 turnout for both events
According to a report by Malay Mail dated 25th April, the two significant events are expected to attract over 100,000 fans.
The Malaysia Cup final will kick off at 9pm. The event has already seen more than 60% of its tickets sold, with an expected high turnout of football enthusiasts looking forward to see the Johor Southern Tigers (JDT) play against Sri Pahang FC. In fact, the Johor government has already announced a special public holiday on 28th April to celebrate the football team’s success in reaching the final, as reported by Bernama.

Likewise, Datuk Amy Search will perform his first solo concert, the Amy Search Magic Konsert Solo Pertama, at 8:30pm, at the nearby Axiata Arena.
With a pre-game opening concert, Kemuncak Piala Malaysia, also taking place on the same day at Bukit Jalil National Stadium at 5.30pm, it’s best to avoid the Bukit Jalil area from 5pm onwards to avoid getting stuck in traffic with football spectators and concert-goers.
Recommended use of public transportation
The sheer number of attendees for both events is expected to lead to heavy traffic in the area, making it advisable for commuters to plan their journeys carefully.
To mitigate the traffic woes, the use of public transportation is strongly advised on Saturday. The Sri Petaling LRT line provides direct access to the Bukit Jalil LRT Station, which is conveniently located just a short walk from both the Bukit Jalil National Stadium and Axiata Arena.
Rapid KL has also announced extended operating hours on their Facebook page at the Bukit Jalil LRT Station to support the events, with trains operating until 12.30am. Passengers are also advised to use a Touch n’ Go card and ensure that there is enough balance in the card for the journey, as ticketing counters are expected to be closed by midnight.
Connecting stations on the Kelana Jaya, Ampang/Sri Petaling, KL Monorail, Kajang, and Putrajaya lines will continue transporting passengers to their end destination:
