Mahjong tile chocolate bonbons from Cake Tella
You’ve probably heard this line before as a kid: don’t play with your food. But you might just rethink this saying once you’ve laid your eyes on Cake Tella’s Moutai Mahjong Bonbons.
For Chinese New Year 2026, the cake shop in Petaling Jaya has launched chocolate bonbons that look just like mahjong tiles.
Nearly indistinguishable from the real thing, these edible mahjong tiles are crafted with Moutai baijiu, resulting in a punchy liquor-infused chocolate that is unmistakably for adults and perfect for the CNY celebrations.

With strong baijiu-infused chocolate making up the indulgent chocolate filling, Cake Tella’s Moutai Mahjong Bonbons comes in two flavours: Moutai Dark Chocolate for the chocolate purists, and Moutai Orange Chocolate for those who like a little tangy kick in their confections.

These limited-time Moutai Mahjong Bonbons are available in two sets: the Moutai Mahjong Bonbon 胡 · HU (RM268), a 12-piece box of Moutai-infused chocolate bonbons, and the 十三幺 Moutai Mahjong Choc Bonbon (RM338), an 18-piece box that contains the same liquor-infused treats but with more bonbons to go around during your CNY celebrations.

Inspired by winning mahjong tile combinations, both sets allow you to indulge in chocolates while ushering in good tidings with mahjong pongs. Just avoid putting them next to your actual mahjong tiles to avoid any tooth aches – the bonbons look like the real deal, decorated with Chinese suits and fitting just nicely in your palm.
If you plan to bring a box of these stunning chocolate bonbons on a long journey during CNY, Cake Tella recommends storing it in a cooler box with ice and keeping it out of direct sunlight to prevent melting.
As for how to get your hands on the sweet treats, Cake Tella is running these limited-time chocolate treats on a pre-order basis, from 13th to 31st January. You can pre-order the sets on their website.
