Cookie shops in KL and Selangor
You’re likely here because you’re in the camp of people who would choose a chocolate chip cookie over a complex pastry when it comes to baked goods. While KL and Selangor is flooded with more options for the latter, cookie shops have recently been cropping up in our neighbourhoods to bring baked creations to the self-professed cookie monsters.
If this describes you, then this list of 8 best cookie shops in KL and Selangor is just for you.
Table of Contents
1. EM’s Soft Chunky Cookies

The row of baked goods displayed in a line like luxury goods at EM’s Soft Chunky Cookies will entice you the moment you step into their cosy shop space. If not for the aroma of buttery treats in the air, of course.
The homegrown cookie shop serves an array of treats, but it’s their cookies that’ll more likely than not find a place in your stomach.

If your ideal dessert must come with the tagline “not too sweet”, then their cookies will be just the thing for you. Their signatures include Cereal Milk (RM12.50). Reminiscent of New York City’s famous Cereal Milk Ice Cream from Milk Bar, EM’s take on the iconic cereal flavour in cookie form will bring to mind something more local – cornflake madu.
Not all crisp around the edges, expect to sink your teeth into a gooey white chocolate centre that nicely balances the subtle crunch of cornflakes on top.

EM’s also has a vegan-friendly option, the Vegan Choc Pecan (RM12.50), which is egg- and dairy-free. The flavours are still spot on with this cookie, where crunchy roasted pecans and vegan dark chocolate meet to check all the boxes of a solid chocolate chip cookie.
Address: 8A, Jalan Telawi 2, Bangsar, 59100 Kuala Lumpur
Opening hours: Tue-Sun 10am-9pm (Closed on Mondays)

2. Chonky Cookies
XL-sized cookies

The cookies at Chonky Cookies are, unsurprisingly, chonky. They deliver on thicc cookies with gooey centres and slightly crisp edges. An array of options – all freshly baked and tantalisingly displayed behind glass cases at their outlets – come larger than the size of your palm and almost as thick as a deck of cards.

Their menu of cookies is separated into Classic (RM9/each), with options such as Dark Chocolate Chonk and Walnut Cranberry, and the Signatures (RM11/each), which has their best-sellers like Miso Double Chocolate and Matcha White Chocolate.

For some serious cookie overload, they also have an XXL-sized Super Chonk (RM19) cookie in coffee, dark chocolate, or hazelnut resembling a flat cake due to its sheer size – it’s about the size of your face.
Or opt to bring home a box of these cookies if you simply can’t get enough. A box of four mix-and-match cookies will come with a free cookie, or two free cookies when you’re purchasing seven of their creations.

The homegrown Cookiecrumbs prides themselves on baking New York-style soft cookies made with pure butter and couverture chocolate chips. We’re talking legit dupes of the cult-classic ones from Levain that are somehow crispy and melty at the same time.
They have just over 10 chocolate-focused cookies on the menu, each one substantially weighing between 110-120g per piece.

The OG (RM10.90) – a decadent dark chocolate chip cookie topped with sea salt flakes – is a must-try. The cookie shop also recently launched a creamy, nutty, and crunchy Pistachio Kunafa (RM12.90) cookie that’s inspired by the viral Dubai chocolate bar.
Don’t miss out on their more innovative flavours such as Red Velvet and Campfire S’mores, priced at RM10.90 each.

6. Ben’s Cookies
Cookie shop since 1983 from England
Ben’s Cookies may be from England, where crisp cookies prevail to hold up against a cup of warm tea. But they bake some seriously buttery, slightly doughy, hefty cookies more reminiscent of American-style ones that practically fall apart when lifted from their boxes.
If this sounds like your cup of tea, the cookie shop has their first outpost in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX. They make their cookies using dough imported from England, to ensure standards are met across the board.
There are 12 unadulterated flavours to try here, including classics like Triple Chocolate Chunk, Cranberry White Chocolate, and Caramelized Crunch. Each cookie is priced RM9.90, or you can go with a box of four selected cookies for RM45.90.

Cookie Bomb with ice cream

If it’s not enough to just have a cookie on its own, then the Cookie Bomb (RM15) special at Cookie Doh is just what you need. A milk chocolate cookie with a gooey chocolate fudge centre is topped with vanilla ice cream – when you break apart the cookie with your fork, the swirls of chocolate and ice cream collide in a beautiful mess.

The cookie shop, which was founded as a passion project during the Covid-19 pandemic, began with just a trio of classic milk, dark, and white chocolate cookies.

Their menu has since expanded, with more flavours and even creative options like the Cookie Pods (from RM4.90/each), which resembles a cupcake but with a cookie “cup” holding gooey fillings like orange, Maltesers, and fruit pastilles.
