914 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia today
The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has seemed like an endless one for Malaysia, as well as for many countries around the world. But there are always small wins speckled throughout that give us a glimpse of the light at the end of the tunnel.
This includes the fact that the number of new COVID-19 daily cases recorded today, 29th March 2021, number just 941 – the lowest number of daily cases in over 3 months in Malaysia.
Lowest number of new COVID-19 cases since 9th December
According to Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM), today’s total number of new COVID-19 daily cases that falls below the 1,000 figure is a first in a long time, as the last time cases fell below the 1,000 mark was on 9th December 2020 – or just over 3 months ago.
Malaysia recorded 959 COVID-19 daily cases on 9th December 2020.

This comes as a small win worthy of celebration, as daily COVID-19 case numbers in Malaysia has been surpassing the 4-digit mark since 9th December, with yesterday’s total daily cases at 1,302 and previous days’ numbers of daily new cases in the 1,000s.
In total, Malaysia has currently recorded 342,885 total confirmed COVID-19 cases to date.

Of today’s total confirmed cases, Selangor reported the most COVID-19 cases with 219 cases in total, while Sarawak and Johor followed close behind with 192 and 171 new cases in each state respectively. Meanwhile, Perlis recorded an impressive zero new cases, with Labuan and Putrajaya recording just 1 new COVID-19 case in each state.

Cases fall below 4-digits, a first in over 3 months
Today’s total confirmed COVID-19 daily cases falling below the 1000s is a small win for Malaysia, as cases have been surpassing the 4-digit mark since the start of 2021. But as the fight is still not over against COVID-19, we are reminded to stick to SOPs while out and registering for vaccinations so we can see better days in the long run.
