It’s not news that Malaysians returning from abroad will have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine as to eliminate the risk of them possibly being carriers of COVID-19. However, we certainly didn’t expect that some of these quarantine facilities across the country would look like it could be a listing on Airbnb.
This will definitely help these Malaysians in quarantine have an easier time during their 2-week long isolation before they’re free to go back home to their family. With free TV and meals fully provided, it’s basically a free staycation.
Well-equipped for a 14-day stay
In a viral Twitter post by Akmal Hidayat Sabri that garnered well over 17,000 retweets and 15,00 likes, he shared a collage of a quarantine facility that’s located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Just from the 3 photos shared, Malaysians could already see what a well-maintained place it was from the clean corridors outside, a queen-size bed in the room itself, and there’s even a view of the trees outside.

In Sabri’s caption, he compared the facility to a hotel that has everything you need for a comfortable 14-day stay. The caption in the photo itself shares that each room comes with an A/C unit, queen bed, TV, free wifi, private toilet, and all meals are provided.
Other netizens have also shared their own photos of the staycation-worthy quarantine facility, highlighting the hotel vibe and spacious room size.

The photos above were posted by a Twitter page named Pemburu Tiket Murah, and it shows a slightly different setup from the first room we saw, although the room still retains that standard hotel room look.
This particular quarantine facility was then revealed to be AKEPT, a training centre located in Nilai. This information was shared by a fellow netizen who goes by the username of @fishybugilove15 who also put out a disclaimer and said that not all returning Malaysians will be quarantined here and that AKEPT is actually one of the best facilities out there.

Quarantine facilities for returning Malaysians
There are over 100 quarantine facilities across the country to accommodate to Malaysians returning from abroad. While not all facilities are as classy as the one in AKEPT and room types certainly differ between places, the government is doing their best to provide a safe environment for Malaysians coming back home.
We only hope that the COVID-19 outbreak in Malaysia will subside soon so that Malaysians would no longer need to go into self-quarantine and be apart from their family.
