Eat Pizza in Pavilion Bukit Jalil
Personal pizzas are not a new concept to pizza enthusiasts. But we found a new joint in town that lets you sink your teeth into hot-out-the-oven, gooey pizza without getting your hands greasy: Eat Pizza, a South Korean chain that specialises in 25cm-long rectangular pies.
We headed to their first branch in Kuala Lumpur, so you know what to expect when the pizza chain officially opens to the public on 15th February 2025 – a generous RM2.99 deal on must-try pizzas included.
First branch in Kuala Lumpur
In Korea, Eat Pizza goes by the name 피자먹다 (pija meokda), with its signature rectangular pizzas birthed in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. They now operate branches across the Southeast Asia region, including Malaysia with its first outpost opening in JB in November 2024.
At their latest Malaysian branch in KL, you’ll find a pork-free menu of eight best-selling pizza flavours from Korea and a classic Pepperoni that’s exclusive to the Pavilion Bukit Jalil outlet. These are made fresh on the spot, with dine-in options available from a small, yet efficient, retro-inspired space with just five tables.
There are also a variety of Korean-staple sides to order, including the mildly Spicy Tteokbokki (RM13.80) with half of a boiled egg and fishcakes, and Gochujang Mac & Cheese (RM11.80) that has a nice crispy breaded top that perfectly complements the gooey, savoury-sweet macaroni and cheese.
Pizza flavours to order at Eat Pizza
You might be wondering how convenient Eat Pizza’s rectangular pizzas are to eat, given that they are around 25cm in length – that’s almost a foot long.
It all rests in its convenient drawer-like packaging: slide out the pizza and eat it on the go like a piece of toast. Perforated lines let you tear the drawer in half so you won’t even have to use your hands to move the pizza for that last bite like you would with a corn dog.
Each pizza is dense, with golden-on-the-bottom dough that’s puffy and soft on top under the layers of toppings. We got to try six of their best-sellers, including classic ones that are hard to go wrong with such as 100% Real Cheese (RM11.80) and Korean Hawaiian (RM15.80).
But our favourites were the Korean-forward flavours: the Sweet Bulgogi Beef Pizza (RM15.80) with nice charred clumps of beef and a generous drizzle of sweet bulgogi sauce, and Korean Spicy Chicken (RM15.80) that had a nice spicy kick and a guaranteed chicken chunk and bits of capsicum in every bite.
The Crispy Potato Ham (RM14.80) deserves a special mention for the heftiness of the pizza alone – it’s the pizza joint’s 2nd best-seller item that carb loads with hash brown potatoes and chicken ham over a classic pizza sauce base.
For one day only, on 15th February, Eat Pizza at Pavilion Bukit Jalil lets you order their Crispy Potato Ham and 100% Real Cheese for just RM2.99. But you’ll want to be quick to grab this deal, as it is limited to the first 100 customers on opening day, from 12pm onwards.
