SG’s Gardens by the Bay Has A Stitch-Themed Festival That You’ll Want To Visit With Your ‘Ohana This School Holiday

Children’s Festival 2025 at Gardens by the Bay

When we Malaysians plan a trip to Singapore, you can bet that we’ll be on a mission to experience the best of the Lion City without bleeding our wallets dry.

While you won’t be short of options when it comes to free things to do in Singapore, here’s one more event to add to your itinerary this mid-year – Gardens by the Bay’s annual Children’s Festival that’s happening from 24th May to 15th June 2025.

This outdoor event brings the fun and tropical energy of Disney’s Stitch to Singapore, with themed interactive installations to experience for free and ‘ohana-friendly activities.

Set foot into Gardens by the Bay’s Supertree Grove this May to find elements of Stitch’s story come to life – think lush greenery, seaside motifs, and a whole lot of chaotic fun.

This is all part of the Children’s Festival, which takes place at Gardens by the Bay each year, when the kiddos are on their school break. Luckily for us Malaysians, the dates for the Term 1 school holidays this year are from 29th May to 7th June, which not only includes an extension but also coincides with the event.

The main highlights of this year’s edition are the four large-scale installation zones inspired by the beloved Stitch, which promise a whole lot of playful mayhem, especially with our favourite cheeky blue alien in tow.

Are entry tickets required for Gardens by the Bay?

Selected attractions at Gardens by the Bay require an entry fee, including the Cloud Forest and Flower Dome, Floral Fantasy, Supertree Observatory, and OCBC Skyway. But Supertree Grove, the location of the iconic Supertrees and the venue for the annual Children’s Festival, is free admission with no tickets required.

How do I get to Gardens by the Bay?

There are two options if you’re coming by train. Hop on the Circle Line and alight at Bayfront MRT Station, which is just a 10-minute walk to Gardens by the Bay. On the Thomson-East Coast Line, hop off at the Gardens by the Bay MRT Station and exit through Exit 1 – Gardens by the Bay will be just a short 5-minute walk away.

If you’re coming from popular areas like Orchard Road, the whole journey will take you around 20 minutes by train.

What can you expect at Children’s Festival 2025?

A huge wave slide

At the heart of the festival is the massive, almost 7m-tall Great ‘Ohana Wave, where thrill-loving young’uns aged 6 to 12 can whizz down a wave-inspired slide on an inflatable float.

An inflatable playscape & a kinetic sand pit

The Forest of Belonging will be an unmissable one for families visiting this event. If you’re coming here with the kiddos, foster the ‘ohana spirit by working together to find your way out of a forest-themed playscape complete with hidden words and messages to solve along the way.

Once you’ve escaped the labyrinth, head straight to Stitch’s Mischief Makers, a sun-drenched and sand-strewn haven filled with soft kinetic sand perfect for little hands to squeeze, shape, and mold into anything they can imagine.

A mission zone

Blast off into a galactic-themed challenge at Space Adventure, a glowing space-themed zone featuring swirling stars and laser beam-like lights. Here, visitors of all ages are invited to embark on a cosmic adventure of their own.

Meet-and-greet sessions

On 7th and 8th June, fans and visitors may also have the chance to say “Aloha!” to a special friend from Disney’s Lilo & Stitch.

Light shows

Another highlight not to miss out on is The Way To ‘Ohana, a special edition of Gardens by the Bay’s signature light and sound show, Garden Rhapsody. When night falls, the Supertrees at Supertree Grove are illuminated in a spectacle of colour and an enchanting display of lights that dance in sync to music inspired by Disney’s Lilo & Stitch.

This light and sound show will happen at 7.45pm and 8.45pm every night throughout the Children’s Festival event.
