Ghibli Jazz Night in Malaysia
Animation fans already love the music that accompanies Studio Ghibli films. Now picture experiencing the iconic soundtracks from beloved films such as Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle reimagined in the energetic and playful colours of jazz.
Cue Ghibli Jazz Night, a live jazz music performance of sounds from Ghibli films that opens for the first time in Malaysia on 24th October 2026, at Zepp Kuala Lumpur. Performed by All That Jazz, a Japanese jazz ensemble backed by Studio Ghibli, the concert will be an unmissable one for Ghibli fans.
What is Ghibli Jazz Night?
Ghibli Jazz Night stars All That Jazz, a renowned Japanese jazz band officially commissioned by Studio Ghibli to reinterpret iconic film scores by Joe Hisashi in playful, crisp, and sparkling jazz.

The 5-member ensemble made waves with their albums Ghibli Jazz and Ghibli Jazz 2, released in 2009 and 2010, respectively.
Known for their rich arrangements and melody, the band – comprising pianist Tomoo Nogami, vocalist Yuriko Kuwahara, bassist Sosuke Kawamoto, saxophonist Shintaro Kurihara, and drummer Kenji Suefuji – have since gained a loyal following among jazz lovers and Ghibli fans alike.

What to expect at Ghibli Jazz Night
The concert, brought together by Ichigo Live and Cos-Mic, will transport concert-goers into the world of beloved Ghibli films created by the legendary Hayao Miyazaki.

You’ll get to hear high-energy jazz renditions of tunes from a slew of Ghibli works, including the classics: Always With Me from Spirited Away, The Merry-Go-Round of Life from Howl’s Moving Castle, The Path of Wind from My Neighbour Totoro, A Town with an Ocean View from Kiki’s Delivery Service, Carrying You from Castle in the Sky, and Country Road from Whisper of the Heart.
Doors to Ghibli Jazz Night, which takes place at Zepp KL, will open at 7pm, with the show kicking off at 8pm, so you will have plenty of time to settle in before the magic begins.
What are the ticket prices for the concert?
Tickets will go on general sale from 13th April on Fantopia’s website. Prices vary depending on seating category:
- Shooting Star: RM208
- Catbus Upper Deck: RM268
- Koriko Square: RM308
- The Clock Tower VIP: RM388, includes VIP laminate and lanyard, acrylic souvenir ticket, A3-sized event poster, and an autographed poster (for 50 VIP ticket holders)
- The Baron’s Lounge: RM428
