GOYO at KLGCC Mall
Picture this: you’ve been a walking ball of work and deadlines for weeks, and then all at once, you’re marinating in aromatic serenity and wrapped in warm steam and the soft tinkling of music.
This is what you’ll get at GOYO, located at the newly-opened KLGCC Mall in Bukit Kiara. This space grants you a delightful detour to a calm cocoon of modern Korean wellness rituals, in the form of body spa and scrubs, head spa, as well as relaxing facials.
Here’s our experience of our pamper sesh at the wellness sanctuary.
What you can expect at GOYO in KLGCC Mall
Sure, it’s tucked in the heart of a bustling mall, but one step into GOYO and you’ll feel worlds away from the chaos of the city and your busy life. Its space is an airy and open one, gleaming with soft, diffused light that envelops low-set woodsy furniture in a warm, tranquil rhythm.
Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by the welcoming lounge for a pre-session relaxation, and further in, there’s the luxurious salon with modishly arranged grooming stations and plush seating, where the hair-scalp analysis sessions take place.
Beyond the lounge area, there are plenty of private sanctuaries, all outfitted in soothing neutrals and earthy tones. This includes the six single rooms at the dedicated head spa zones, two couple suites for partners looking to indulge in some pampering rituals together, as well as two traditional Korean scrub rooms.
Throughout it all, the influence of the Hanok architecture is unmistakable. GOYO’s interiors pay homage to the carefully crafted woods, warm stone accents, gentle curves, and organic textures of the traditional Korean architecture.
GOYO head spa & Korean facial
GOYO has a vast menu of Korean wellness treatments, with their signature being the authentic Korean body scrub (RM450 for a 60-minute session), a first in Malaysia.
As we felt a real need for some therapeutic head massage and a nice skin cleanse, we opted for the Premium Head Spa + Relaxing Facial package (RM400). The experience starts with an AI scalp analysis, where the professionally-trained therapist examines your hair follicles with a tech-powered device and provides a personalised consultation to guide you on your scalp needs.
In a private room, you’ll be pampered with an Aromatherapy Inhalation Ritual that magically unravels both your wrangled thoughts and tense posture, before the attention moves to your skin.
Kicking off with the facial double cleansing, the cleanse removes obvious residues and coaxes out impurities, while the next step of dead skin scrubbing exfoliates the skin gently, leaving your skin suspiciously soft. Your skin will next be graced by the Korean face massage technique that feels equal parts massage and meditation, and then the journey finishes with a facial hydrating mask.
And while your skin is soaking up all that moisture and nutrition, in comes the scalp scaling and deep cleanse, before the relaxing gel application that feels cool and soothing against your follicles. The comb massage sequence is next to add to the bliss, and it’s on to the highlight – a head massage and steam therapy so divine, they’ll have you abandoning all stress-related responsibilities for that moment.
The session finishes off with a light application of hair tonic and a blow-dry, so that you’ll look public-ready and feel renewed once again.
The products used here are a good mix of Korean premium brands, including the likes of Milbon, Olaplex, and Hasol, which are also available for purchase.
