The Gundam Base Pop-up lands in Malaysia
For its 45th anniversary, The Gundam Base Pop-Up has been making its way around the globe, hitting cities in Japan, France, and Australia. This July, the event lands in Malaysia, bringing with it a Gundam exhibit, daily workshops, and exclusive model kits for Gundam fans.
Here’s what you can expect to experience at the pop-up.
An exhibit, retail store & workshops
Gundam and gunpla enthusiasts, this event is for you. Held at INCUBASE Arena Malaysia in Fahrenheit88, The Gundam Base Pop-Up in KL has three zones that builders and collectors can explore from now till 13th July 2025.
At INCUBASE, there’s a special exhibit dedicated to the history of Gundam, which is owned and sold by Bandai. Fans can geek out over the range of Gundam showcased, including early to recent models. Various model grades are also highlighted at the exhibition, from entry to perfect grade, which indicates their detail, complexity, and size.
If it’s not enough to just marvel at Gunplas behind glass cases, head over to the retail store to shop exclusive and rare model kits and get exclusive freebies with purchases.
There are also workshops that new and avid builders can join to experience building their very own Gundam plastic model, or Gunpla. Held daily from 12pm-5pm, the workshops provide each participant with a base model kit for free to assemble.
As photos are a must, make your way to the entrance of the mall, where a huge Gundam model is displayed for photo ops.
