Happy Life with Rilakkuma lands in Malaysia at LaLaport BBCC
Adorable characters from Sanrio, Mofusand, and Miffy are taking Malaysia by storm with cute merch, pop-ups, and impossible-to-resist brand collabs. San-X has entered the arena of fun with a new San-X universe pop-up shop in Malaysia, Happy Life with Rilakkuma, which has all sorts of merch for the huggable Rilakkuma and its companions.
When & where is the Happy Life with Rilakkuma pop-up in Malaysia?

The Happy Life with Rilakkuma pop-up shop has been touring the globe, with stops set for South Korea, Shanghai, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. In Malaysia, the pop-up opens on Level 2 of LaLaport BBCC in Kuala Lumpur.
The pop-up takes up shoplot L2-13A, near the mall’s East Atrium. The best parking zone is Zone D, where you can take an elevator directly to Level 2.
As for when the pop-up will be around, San-X announced on its website that the pop-up has no end date. For now, it opens from 24th October 2026 until further notice.
What to expect at Happy Life with Rilakkuma

At the pop-up shop, fans of Rilakkuma can expect to get exclusive merch from Japan of Rilakkuma, Korilakkuma, Chairoikoguma, and Kiiroitori. More than just shopping, adorable photo ops are littered around the store so you can take pictures of your finds with the characters in cheeky poses.

Prep to splurge on items such as soft plushies that will bring that needed dose of kawaii to your rooms, and blind boxes like the Rilakkuma Sherbert Colour Series that has Rilakkuma dressed in pastel shades. There are more practical items to shop too, including plush wallets shaped like Rilakkuma’s head and pretty sticker sets with fancy gold outlines.
Fans can also snatch up Rilakkuma-themed stationery sets and a matching pencil case to store them in.

What’s special about this pop-up is that San-X has delegated venue-exclusive merch for each of their overseas pop-up shops. Malaysian shoppers, for starters, can get a clear bookmark of one of four San-X characters at random with every purchase. No minimum spend is required, but there is a while-stocks-last fine print with the bookmark freebies.
There will also be a Mascot Meet & Greet on 14th and 21st November 2026. Fans will get to meet the huggable Rilakkuma and friends at the following times:

It isn’t every day that you can find all sorts of kawaii merch of Rilakkuma and its friends all in one spot. With harder-to-get merch items exclusive to Japan now in Malaysia, like plushies and blind boxes, a visit to the pop-up is a must for fans.
