Hill & Heal cafe
Malaysia is home to countless scenic hiking trails. But rarely do they lead to cafes that serve lattes and light bites. Cue Hill & Heal. If you want to be whisked away to a hideaway on a hill, this gorgeous glasshouse cafe in Kluang, Johor, is tucked in a forest amidst trees, next to a stream.

Like something straight out of a fairytale, Hill & Heal is a recently opened cafe housed in an A-frame structure sitting on the gentle hill of Gunung Lambak – a small mountain that stands 510 metres above sea level, with trails popular among locals.
Though its location is discreet – find the cafe next to a suspension bridge at the foot of the mountain – it has quickly gained attention from locals for its beauty among lush greenery.

As it also operates as an event space, this forested cafe is only open from Fridays to Sundays to diners.
But you’ll want to take on the beginner-friendly trek up to it, as it features seats set on a wooden platform that overlooks the surrounding trees and a stream.

While the outdoor area is where most diners beeline to, there are several camping-style seats to be found inside the warm and inviting glasshouse too.
So, order a cup of latte and pull up a chair – whether you’re sheltered indoors or breathing the crisp air outdoors, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the surrounding scenery.

As seats are limited at this cafe, there’s a dining time limit of 1.5 hours so everyone gets a chance to dine here. Expect to wait between 45 minutes and an hour for a seat during peak dining hours, as the cafe has been attracting nature-loving patrons in recent days – we recommend getting here as early as 8am.
