Kebun: Rustic Cafe Hidden In A Farm With Strawberry Cakes & Nature Views In Hulu Yam Lama

A rustic cafe hidden in a vegetable farm

There’s no shortage of cafes with aesthetic interiors to visit in the Klang Valley. From industrial-style cafes to pink, floral-themed ones – KL and Selangor has them all.

But for a change of scene from modern settings to lush green sceneries, venture beyond these eateries in the city to Kebun cafe in Hulu Yam Lama. This rustic cafe, nestled in a vegetable farm, features exposed brick walls, large windows and hanging plants so you can escape city life over coffee and cakes in a nature-filled space.

Most cafes in the city have a touch of plants to bring the outdoor greenery inside. But Kebun is located quite literally in a vegetable farm – Ho Ho Organic Farm, which is about a 45-minute drive from KL.

The cafe makes the most of its location with large windows, so patrons can gaze at the green vistas while sipping on coffee.

Not straying far from the nature vibes outside its doors, the cafe’s indoor space has a rustic charm to it with exposed brick walls, rattan chairs and wooden tables. Plants and flowers deck the space too – spot dangling pots overflowing with creepers, and vases of fern flowers that give the dining space a somewhat whimsical vibe.

There’s also an outdoor seating area at the back of the cafe for diners who prefer to soak up the refreshing ambience of nature. This space overlooks a gorgeous view of landscaped greenery, so patrons can enjoy their meals here with the chirping of birds, light breeze and an unparalleled view.

The cafe was launched by the founder of Ho Ho Organic Farm, which grows pesticide-free and organically cultivated vegetables.

Kebun also serves a small selection of teas (RM10/pot) as well, should you prefer to skip the caffeine and matcha. Non-coffee drinkers can also go for Kebun’s Milktea (RM7), or a refreshing passionfruit soda drink Markisa Orange (RM12).
