5 Roads In KL To Close For Selangor Cup On 27th Sept, Take Note If You Have Weekend Plans In The City

Five KL roads to close for Selangor Cup on 27th September

In anticipation of the much-awaited Sultan of Selangor’s Cup match between Selangor and Singapore, local authorities in KL have announced the temporary closure of five roads in the city. These closures are set to commence from 2pm onwards on 27th September 2025.

What is the Sultan of Selangor’s Cup?

The Sultan of Selangor’s Cup – often called the Selangor Cup – is an annual friendly football match between rival clubs Selangor FA and Singapore FA. Some dub it Malaysia’s very own El Clàssico. The first friendly was held in 2001 to maintain ties with neighbouring Singapore, following the country’s departure from the Malaysian League in 1994.
