A fascinating title calls for a fascinating premise, and The Potato Lab certainly pulls that off. The feisty Lee Sun Bin plays Kim Mi Kyung, who is described as a potato-crazy researcher who lives her potato dream passionately as an employee at the Potato Research Institute tucked away in the mountain valley.

Her peaceful potato-filled life gets disrupted with the arrival of a ruthless capitalist, albeit handsome, director named So Baek Ho – played by our boy Kang Tae Oh – as the two seem to disagree on just about everything. That is until they find themselves falling for each other.

2. When Life Gives You Tangerines

When Life Gives You Tangerines is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated K-dramas of 2025, largely because of the beloved big names including IU and Park Bo Gum as the leads – a pairing that simply screams uber cute. And based on the trailers and teasers we have been blessed with, that seems exactly right.

Set in the 1950s in picturesque Jeju, the slice-of-life series centres around the life tale of two – Ae Sun, a spunky and rebellious young girl who has dreams bigger than her small hometown, and Gwan Sik, who is quiet and timid but fiercely devoted when it comes to loving Ae Sun.

The sweet Park Eun Bin takes on a slightly psychopathic role in this drama as Jung Se Ok, who used to be a successful neurosurgeon before being stripped of her license by her former mentor Choi Deok Hee, and is now working as a shadow doctor. Their paths cross, old wounds reopen, and they both get entangled in a twisted game of revenge and ambition.
