K-pop merch in Malaysia
It’s not hard to get K-pop merchandise these days, with plenty of online options for Malaysian fans of K-pop groups. But if you’re looking for that thrill of physically browsing and buying albums, photocards, and merch of your bias off the shelves, without the long wait for delivery, here are 7 places in Malaysia for offline K-pop shopping to feel like you’re in Seoul.

1. XD Universe

XD Universe has become a Klang Valley hotspot for all things related to K-pop.
Beyond having albums of K-pop idols sorted neatly on shelves according to the group, this shop in Subang Jaya’s SS15 has a dedicated space for fan-held events and meet-ups, and even a photobooth with custom idol templates and a free DIY corner with stickers and marker pens.

While they have binders for you to pluck out photocards of K-pop groups to buy, you’ll also find several photocard gacha machines outside their shop, which carry random photocards of groups like BTS and ITZY. Tokens are required to operate the machines, with a token redeemable from the cashier for RM10. A photocard typically requires two tokens.
Besides the album collection, XD Universe’s extensive inventory even includes magazines, apparel, and non-album merchandise of K-pop artists and Korean actors.
2. The Rare Select
Another K-pop hotspot in Subang Jaya, The Rare Select at Sunway Pyramid has been drawing K-pop fans in since their opening with a centrepiece lightstick-like photocard display. On the shelves are official photocards of popular groups like SEVENTEEN, BLACKPINK, and Stray Kids.
The photocards range from album to pre-order benefit pulls, with prices for each from RM20.
A draw of this shop is their collection of official lightsticks, which you can get in-person without the worry of whether it’ll make it to you unharmed during delivery. Group lightsticks to shop include popular acts from SM, YG, and HYBE, and even ones from Saja Boys and Huntrix of the Netflix hit, KPop Demon Hunters.

3. K-Space Malaysia

You may have heard of them online, but K-Space Malaysia happens to have a physical location at Sungai Besi that’s part cafe, part K-pop shop. You can buy official K-pop merch through their online shop and opt for pick-up to save on delivery fees, or simply head to the shop to browse through their reasonably-priced collection in person.
They’ve got albums from a wide range of K-pop groups, as well as other hard-to-get items like tour and fanmeeting merch, Season’s Greetings packages, and pop-up exclusives.
4. Notes Wonderland

It’s easy to miss out on Notes Wonderland while you’re shopping at KL’s LaLaport BBCC, as they share a space with Mori Mory, a dessert-focused cafe that also hosts fan-held gatherings like idol birthday celebrations.

A corner of the cafe carries K-pop merch and albums, including popular and upcoming names like PHANTASY, FIFTY FIFTY, and Stray Kids. The collection isn’t as extensive when compared to other K-pop shops, but you can follow Notes Wonderland on Instagram and be on the lookout for new album arrivals, and also reserve albums by dropping them a message.

5. K-Playground x Drecipe
K-Playground is another spot that you might just miss while shopping. It’s tucked inside DRECIPE, a Korean lifestyle store at Pavilion Bukit Jalil that carries trendy apparel and accessories.
A corner of the shop has shelves of K-pop merch, including albums and pop-up items. If you’re collecting photocards, you’ll find binders for different groups. As the shop is still undiscovered by most, there’s a good selection of official photocards from popular groups like Le Sserafim, IVE, and ENHYPEN to buy.
6. Tsutaya Books

Beyond shops dedicated to K-pop albums and fan events, there are spots like Tsutaya Books that have a curated selection of K-pop merch to buy alongside their mainstay collection of books and stationery.
At the KL bookstore’s Lifestyle section, there’s a row of shelves that carry a good number of K-pop trinkets and albums from popular Korean boy and girl groups. The albums are sold at the typical market price, with varying album versions available to shop.
7. POPULAR
At selected POPULAR bookstores, fans can also access the latest album release and other special K-pop collectables. These albums are typically priced between RM100 and RM400. If you’re lucky, you might catch good discounts for selected albums and even pre-ordered items.
Some stores have also started selling loose photocards, from RM20.
