We’ve all lost things in our lives: pencils, hair clips, and coins. But nothing hits as hard when you lose something sentimental – especially an item that means a lot in both monetary and sentimental value.

Just recently, a Facebook user’s wife had this happen to her while dining at Fatty Crab Restaurant in Petaling Jaya. But they didn’t expect the kind workers there to dig through several bags of trash to help her relocate her ring.

How it all went down

Daryl William Bridger shared the kind deed that was extended to him and his wife in a Facebook post on 12th January 2020. It has since garnered over 321 likes and 67 shares, and counting.

They had finished their dinner, but it wasn’t until they were 30 minutes away from the restaurant that they realised that Daryl’s wife had accidentally left her ring on the table. As it was a sentimental gift from her mom, they rushed back to the restaurant to search for it.

The staff ended up searching through all the restaurant’s rubbish bins to find it, sifting through massive amounts of discarded crab shells.

In the end, they cheered as if the ring were their own when they finally found it. They even refused to be rewarded by Daryl and his wife for their unexpected help.

According to Kenneth Pang, who has connections to the restaurant, the staff there had to search through 3 large trash bags of gutted crab shells. Daryl took the time once again to thank the staff for what they did, and promised his support for the restaurant.

Kind staff at Fatty Crab Restaurant

We often have a lot of grumbles about the service we get at restaurants, as it is a big part of our dining experience. So when we do receive good service, be sure to give the staff a shoutout online and offline, as all of us are just trying to make a living and doing the best that we can do.

We’re glad the lady found her ring, but our faith in humanity is restored even more knowing there are people who’d do selfless kind deeds without expecting rewards.
