Luxury hotel group Mandarin Oriental is set to expand its presence in Malaysia with the announcement of Mandarin Oriental, Desaru Coast, scheduled to open in January 2026.
This rebranding of an iconic resort, originally designed by the late Kerry Hill in collaboration with his award-winning firm KHA Studios, will be a refined escape for any holidaymaker seeking both nature and indulgence.

Perched along the tranquil shores of the South China Sea, the 4,000-acre resort will feature 44 suites and villas, each elegantly designed to offer panoramic views of either the sea or the lush rainforest.
In January 2026, the hotel will replace the current hotel there The Sireya, which operates under One&Only Desaru Coast, as reported by The Edge Malaysia.

Additionally, The Ember Beach Club, conceptualised by a Singaporean award-winning chef, will elevate the art of the barbecue with a selection of the freshest catch and prime meats, laced with intriguing notes of Asia.
