Mary Jane KL: Floral Theme Cafe With Opulent Pink Interiors, It’s M’sia’s Very Own Peggy Porschen

Mary Jane KL, floral-themed pink cafe

Petaling Street is the epitome of adapting with the times. It has lived a rich history, housing generations-old businesses in pre-war shophouses long before Malaysia’s independence. Today, Petaling Street continues to thrive with modern cafes and sophisticated bars taking root in the area.

The latest one to join the list is Mary Jane KL, a restaurant and bar so obtrusively striking and eye-catching that you’ll definitely feel the FOMO if you don’t check it out at least once.

Resembles London’s Peggy Porschen

To the uninitiated, Peggy Porschen is a bakery often known as one of the prettiest cafes in the world. With a few outlets in London, the extremely photogenic bakeries have become a landmark of their own.

Mary Jane KL shares a similar vibe but with even more flowers, flamboyance, and decadence. In fact, you can expect to dine in a booth that’s completely enveloped by walls of flowers.

Although it’s a casual dining concept, the cafe will definitely tempt you to dress up and score some good shots while you’re there.

As dining at Mary Jane will warrant lots of photo opportunities, it’s the perfect place to celebrate special occasions too.

Serves a comprehensive menu covering a wide range of cuisines

Mary Jane may come off as a girly high tea spot, but they actually have an extensive menu offering Nyonya delicacies, Western cuisine, specially curated cocktails, and rich desserts.

Just like the cafe, the food is also beautifully plated and has received plenty of good reviews from customers.

You can try the likes of Nasi Ulam Ayam Rendang (RM38), Australian Wagyu Beef Burger (RM72), Mushroom Barley Risotto (RM38), Lamb Shank (RM75), and many more.

If you still have room in your stomach, finish off your meal with indulgent desserts such as Soy Longan Rose Panna Cotta (RM27), Dark Chocolate Brownie (RM35), or check out their cake of the day, with options such as Musang King Cheesecake, Red Velvet, Matcha Burnt Cheesecake, depending on that day’s menu and more for around RM30 for a slice.

Those who prefer something less heavy can go for their Ice Blended Frappe series. There are classic flavours such as Chocolate and Caramel alongside more less basic ones such as Lychee Bandung, Cendol, and Teh Tarik (RM18/each).

Dine amidst hundreds of flowers at Mary Jane KL

We’re living in a time where new cafes and restaurants are popping up every other week that it has become the bare minimum for eateries to offer good food. The Insta culture calls for gorgeous interiors too, and Mary Jane KL clearly checks all the boxes.

More than just being gorgeous, their interiors are so next level that we’re pretty sure we’ll be seeing it on our Instagram feed for many months to come.
