My Chemical Romance to hold 2-day concert in Malaysia in 2026
Only one band can trigger a belting session across generations with a single note played on a piano. That’s how well-known My Chemical Romance and their songs like Welcome To The Black Parade are.
In 2026, Malaysians can don their best punk ‘fits again and prep for a night screaming their hearts out to MCR’s iconic songs. The emo music icons have confirmed that they are heading to Malaysia. After their first concert date in the country sold out in 90 minutes – we’re talking all 60,000 tickets snatched up – they’ve announced a second show date on 1st May 2026.
They last performed in Malaysia in 2007
It’s been 18 years since MCR last performed in Malaysia. The four-piece band, comprising Gerard Way, Ray Toro, Mikey Way, and Frank Lero, had a show at Stadium Merdeka way back in December 2007 for The Black Parade Tour. Iconic anthems like Helena and Welcome To The Black Parade left us with major post-concert depression.

With a new expanded edition of their successful sophomore album, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, and a restored music video for The Ghost Of You, released in 2025 – a whopping 21 years after its original release date – it’s been major nostalgia flashbacks for fans in recent days.
And the excitement doesn’t stop here. The band just dropped a string of 2025 stadium and arena shows across South America and Southeast Asia in 2026 on Monday, 7th July, on Instagram. Lo and behold – Malaysia is on the list.
