My Hero Academia at Doko Koko Cafe
The world of rising superheroes and crazy-cool Quirks from My Hero Academia has been enthralling otakus, even here in Malaysia. If you’ve been keeping up with the hit Japanese series and have your eye out for an event to indulge in all things MHA, what with the slew of anime pop-ups happening in KL recently, we have just the thing for you.
There’s a My Hero Academia collaboration cafe opening in KL on 10th May 2025, at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC). Here’s what we know about it.
A themed cafe and merch store
The Japanese heroic saga has joined forces with Doko Koko, an anime-themed cafe at LaLaport BBCC. The cafe previously collaborated with the viral simulator Chinese mobile game, Love And Deepspace, and popular novel-turned-donghua Heaven’s Official Blessing, much to the delight of local fans.
The latest collaboration with My Hero Academia will run from 10th May until 6th July 2025, with two parts to the event.

Fans can check out the themed cafe. There are My Hero Academia character-inspired savoury mains, desserts, and drinks to order and enjoy amidst decor that captures the best of the iconic U.A. High School. No admission fee is required to enter the cafe to gawk at the on-brand “plus ultra” ambience, but fans will want to place an order for a meal here to plop down at a table, take snaps of the themed food, and enjoy dining among fellow MHA followers.
Every order of a beverage comes with a free character-themed coaster that you can bring home, and there are pretty hearty dishes on the menu like white curry udon with potato cream and chicken karaage and fried chicken burger with cheese sauce and chips.

Just next to the cafe is a dedicated merchandise shop that complements the themed food with its plethora of My Hero Academia goodies. There are exclusive collectibles, stylish apparel, and an array of fan gear that you won’t easily stumble upon elsewhere, all waiting to find a new home with fellow enthusiasts.
Prices for the goods are affordable and student-friendly too, with items priced between RM15 and RM79. You can check out the full merch drop on Doko Koko’s Instagram here.
