4 New Shopping Malls In Klang Valley To KIV For More Retail Therapy Spots In 2025

New Klang Valley shopping malls in 2025

You’ll know where to find most Malaysians on the weekends: congregating in a shopping mall. While it feels like there’s already a glut of malls in the Klang Valley, we’ll always welcome a new spot to lepak at if it means a way to access our favourite shops with fewer crowds.

We’re just reaching the mid-year point of 2025, and there’s already a lineup of new shopping malls set to open in Klang Valley before the year-end. Here’s everything that we know about them.

1. Ombak Mall

The Petronas Twin Towers are known for their eye-catching facades which warrant a snap whenever we pass them in KL. But soon, another unique structure is set to emerge right next to these icons: Ombak, a new mall with a wave-like exterior that’s expected to open in October.

The six-storey mall features a whopping 420,000sqft of space and 120 retail lots. There will be everything from lifestyle and F&B outlets, a rooftop park, and even a marketplace to separate the new mall from the nearby Suria KLCC. Galeri Petronas will be the mall’s anchor tenant, offering immersive experiences for visitors.

The mall’s connectivity to the MRT Putrajaya Line will make it convenient to get to. There’s also a covered walkway planned for the mall, which will connect it with Suria KLCC.

2. Hextar World

The mall at PJ’s Empire City Damansara, established 14 years ago, finally has an expected soft launch at the end of 2025.

Officially called Hextar World at Empire City, the sprawling mall that sits on a massive 23-acre parcel will have a whopping 600 retail, entertainment, and dining outlets. These will be spread across six distinct zones that include European and American-inspired streets. As the mall is conveniently linked to Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP) and Penchala Link via the Sprint Highway, there will be over 9,000 parking spots to accommodate shoppers coming from near and far.

The mall will also be connected to 12 high-rises on the same plot.

Some confirmed tenants at the upcoming mall include China’s Luckin Coffee, NomNom Food Hall, and a Japanese-inspired food hub called Senkyaku Banrai. Metrojaya is also expected to join the directory list.

More than just shopping and food, the mall will feature entertainment spots such as an Olympic-sized ice skating stadium by Malaysia National Ice Skating Stadium (MYNISS), and Slope Master, the nation’s largest indoor water park and ski training facility. A bowling centre is set to launch here too.
