NewJeans pop-up store in Malaysia

Malaysian Bunnies, what’s your ETA? It better not be late, because merch from the K-pop girl group sensation NewJeans is now available at a PLAY LINE FRIENDS’ latest pop-up store in Malaysia. Located at 1 Utama Shopping Centre in Petaling Jaya, the store will open for three months: from 21st September till 21st December 2023.

So Get Up, and head to the pop-up store to snag NewJeans merch, including plushies, photocards, and phone accessories.

NewsJeans photo spots & a photo booth

Fresh off their collab with McDonald’s, NewJeans has another fun event for Malaysian Bunnies. Opening from now till 21st December, the latest PLAY LINE FRIENDS pop-up store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre features a wide range of NewJeans merch, various photo spots, and even a NewJeans photo booth.

When you enter the pop-up store, you’ll be greeted by several photo spots, including cut-outs of the girls’ manga personas to pose with and a flower-filled wall. Head to the latter to snap photos of your new NewJeans haul with it as an aesthetic backdrop, or flaunt your best moves and take part in the Super Shy challenge here.

Another highlight at the pop-up store is the photo booth (RM30 for 2 strips) – grab your bestie, so you can take 4-cut or 6-cut photo strips with NewJeans frames as keepsakes. Do take note that the photo booth only accepts RM5 and RM10 cash notes.

A variety of NewJeans merch, from phone cases to plushies

Expect to find an assortment of adorable NewJeans merch too, such as plush keyrings (RM79), sticker packs (from RM27), and beaded straps (RM79). There’s also silicone iPhone cases (RM105), which you can decorate and personalise with a variety of NewJeans-inspired fabric patches.

If you’re looking to rep the group in style, you can also browse for apparel featuring the girls, such as T-shirts, tote bags, and caps.

To expand your collection of NewJeans photocards, the pop-up store has various photocard sets (RM42/each) and photocard holder keyrings (RM63/each).

Printed on most of the merch are illustrations that NewJeans fans will easily recognise: the girl groups’ adorable bunny mascot, or IPX’s miniature ‘Bunini’ characters that appeared in the group’s ASAP music video, and their The Powerpuff Girls characters that featured in their hit EP, Get Up

Fans can purchase plushies of the adorable bunnies to add to their burgeoning collection. Pick between a Bunini Rabbit Face Cushion (RM153) or the Bunini Rabbit Costume Plush (RM121), which you can dress up with outfits.

The pop-up store will launch in cities across Southeast Asia

Following the success of the pop-up stores in Hongdae and Gangnam, LINE FRIENDS announced that they’ll be bringing this collaboration to several other Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines. Here’s the full list of countries they’ll stop by:

  • Central World, Bangkok, Thailand: 2nd September – 1st October 2023
