Ombak KLCC mall opening in 2026

KL is no stranger to shopping malls. From neighbourhood favourites to massive destination malls, the city is packed with places to shop, eat and hang out. But every once in a while, a new development comes along that promises something a little different.

Enter Ombak KLCC, a highly anticipated new mall rising right in the heart of the city near the Petronas Twin Towers. While there has been plenty of buzz around its opening date, here is what we know so far and why this upcoming mall is worth keeping an eye on.

Inspired by the flowing form of a wave, Ombak KLCC is a new lifestyle and retail development located within the KLCC precinct, just steps away from Suria KLCC and directly connected to the Persiaran KLCC MRT station on the Putrajaya Line.

Developed by KLCC Property Holdings, the same group behind Suria KLCC, the mall is designed to complement rather than compete with its iconic neighbour. Unlike traditional malls that focus heavily on shopping, this new mall is quite the game-changer.

With a strong emphasis on culture, art and open spaces, it will feature multiple gallery spaces, including the new home of Galeri Petronas, alongside curated retail and dining outlets that are spread across six levels with lots to explore.

While earlier reports suggested an opening as early as October 2025, the most widely referenced information indicates that Ombak KLCC is expected to open next year, with January 2026 cited as the projected timeframe.

What to be on the lookout for?

One of the biggest draws of Ombak KLCC is its focus on experience rather than sheer scale.

Visitors can expect thoughtfully designed spaces that encourage exploration, from art galleries and cultural exhibitions to landscaped areas that offer a breather from the surrounding skyscrapers.

A rooftop garden is also part of the plans, providing a green escape with views of the KLCC skyline. Dining is expected to play a key role as well, with a mix of local and international options set to cater to both office workers and tourists in the area.

Connectivity is another major plus. With direct MRT access and covered walkways linking Ombak KLCC to Suria KLCC, moving between the two malls and the wider city centre should be seamless.

Ombak KLCC is poised to become more than just another mall in KL. With its blend of culture, retail and green spaces, it aims to offer a fresh take on what a city centre mall can be.

So if you enjoy discovering new spots that combine lifestyle and art, this is one place to add to your radar for 2026.
