If you’re familiar with neighbourhood stationery store Writer in Penang, known for its high-quality writing tools, you’ll be stoked to know that the store has since expanded to a larger space with a new concept.

Now called P.66, the store houses the same wide collection of writing supplies with a new addition – a cafe within the store, where patrons can fill their tummies or relax with a cup of coffee after sifting through the aisles for notebooks and more.

Keeping to the Japanese-inspired minimalist design the store is known for, P.66’s interior features wood and concrete furnishings that altogether creates a chic yet cosy ambience, accentuated by tall plants which add a soothing pop of colour.

The space is a welcome respite from the bustle of George Town outside – and the edibles here aren’t too shabby either.

In the mornings, they serve a hearty Big Breakfast (RM25), which comprises sausages, scrambled eggs, sauteed mushrooms, sourdough toasts, and assorted greens. Or go for their sandwiches that resemble stuffed buns, such as the Smoked Duck Potato (RM20), Spicy Chicken Brioche (RM22), and Smoked Salmon Brioche (RM25).
