For a variety of houseplants and minimalist planters, drop by Plantae Lover. Established in 2018, they’re well-known among customers for delivering lively houseplants straight to their doorsteps. Some easy-care plants you can find here – that require moderate sunlight and are suitable for beginners – include Golden Pothos (RM19.90) and Air Plant (RM15.90) varieties, as well as Sansevieria Cylindrica Starfish (RM29.90), a hardy succulent plant.

2. Pulpy Garden – quirky planters for succulent plants

If you’re looking to add houseplants to your home as a decor item, pots and planters are likely something you’ve been keeping an eye out for too. At Pulpy Garden, they have a range of pots – from chic ones to repurposed quirky planters – to ditch the nursery plastic brown pots for.
Founded by Josephine, this plant shop specialises in local and imported succulents in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colours, and textures. Originally an online store, they now have a physical store at Slate At The Row where you can find succulents and indoor houseplants.

Among their selections of houseplants are their pots and planters. There are pots with simpler designs made of ceramic and concrete, to uniquely shaped ones such as their Black & White Sleeping Beauty (RM40/each) pots and Him & Her Cartoon (RM33/each) pots.
These pots incorporate the plants they hold into their design, making quirky pieces to liven up your room.

3. Igarden – three succulent plants for RM10 & large houseplants

Succulents are a plant newbie’s safest choice, as they require relatively minimal attention and care. Nonetheless, they come in various shapes, sizes, and colours – which will beautify any space in need of some colour, and work well for those with limited space in their home.
Busy Malaysians can begin their hunt for a succulent plant at Igarden in Setia Alam, which has over 200 species of indoor plants – including succulents sold in a set of three for RM10.

If you have more room for plants at home, you can shop for larger potted plants. Choose from popular species – Snake Plant (RM260), Fiddle Leaf Fig (RM295), and Cornstalk Plant (RM265) – that are eye-pleasing and boast air-purifying qualities.

4. Plant & Pot Studio – over 400 plant species in a plant cafe

Plant & Pot Studio is praised by patrons for their range of plants – find over 400 plant species inside their stores located in Puchong and Ampang. This includes popular houseplants, and exotic and flowering plants that thrive in various environments with proper attention.
Both locations have an in-house cafe too, so you can order food and drinks while deciding on a plant to bring home.

Some low-maintenance plants they have are Fittonia (RM15), a stunning flowering plant with delicate, vivid leaf patterns, or “veins”, in white, pink, and red. These plants can be placed indoors, with access to indirect sunlight, and is relatively low maintenance – it requires watering once a week.

Plant & Pot Studio also sells air plants that don’t require soil, so you don’t have to worry about making a mess. The Tillandsia Bandensis (RM50) is a miniature air plant shaped like a coral due to its clumping foliage that blooms with purple flowers. The Tillandsia Duratii Giant (RM350) is another air plant that grows over 6-feet long and sprouts violet flowers.
Besides their plants, they have gardening tools. Their Watering Indicator (RM22) is a nifty tool that lets you know when you need to water your plants. A light on the stick will turn blue when your plant has enough water, and white when it’s in need of watering.

5. Lakar Ideas – bonsais for under RM50 & a variety of fertilisers

Lakar Ideas is a wholesale plant shop in Bangi, home to indoor houseplants, pots, and gardening tools. Located inside a house – and sharing space with a coffee shop – this spot is recommended for plant newbies looking to browse for greenery in a plant nursery-like space.
They have a wide array of plant varieties that you would find at plant nurseries, but you won’t feel overwhelmed with choices here as plants are all neatly arranged.

Lakar Ideas has popular plant species that already come in minimalist ceramic pots – such as Potted ZZ Plant (RM120) and Fiddle Fig Plant (RM110) – so all you need to do is think of a space in your home for your new purchases.
Their prices for medium-sized plants range between RM50-70 – potted Monstera Deliciosas (RM65/each) and Sansevieria Laurentiis (RM50/each) are some popular purchases here.
Look out for their bonsais too. These are usually priced around RM50, with selections of Rozita Bonsai (RM50) and Ginseng Bonsai (RM35) also sold in pots with simple designs.
They offer free potting services for patrons too, in case you’re interested in one of their many pot offerings.
Besides their plants and pots, Lakar Ideas has gardening tools and an assortment of fertilisers. Find soil mixes for Philodendron (RM20) and Monstera (RM20) plants, and fertilisers – from goat dung (RM10) and coffee (RM5), to osmocote (RM15) and organic shamrock (RM20) – so your plants can continue to thrive at home.

6. TamanHati – terrariums & cactus plants
Another plant shop in Klang Valley that shares space with a cafe is TamanHati. They are well-hidden on the second floor of a shoplot in Bangsar, alongside Planter Chin – an aesthetic cafe known for their speciality coffee, cakes, and fizzy kombucha.
The plant and coffee shop’s shared space is flooded with natural lighting and over 200 different plant species. Various seat arrangements are for plant lovers and cafe hoppers alike to rest their legs while soaking up the relaxing vibes here, created by the plant shop’s plethora of greenery.

Some plants you can purchase from TamanHati are their cactus plants. There are different types to find, such as Moon Cactus (RM15) with bright red and yellow tops, and Mickey Mouse Cactus (RM40), also called bunny ears cactus.
Other interesting finds are their terrariums. Have one made to order (RM180), or choose from readily available ones such as Enggang Moss Terrarium (RM150) or Giraffe Moss Terrarium (RM65) for delicate plants and decorative items carefully placed inside a glass container.

7. PLNT.co – plant and matcha shop

PLNT.co., a well-known plant shop from Melaka that does online deliveries, recently opened a new branch at Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya. Those in Klang Valley can browse for their houseplants, with a wide array of houseplants (from RM15/pot) regularly stocked. Some green finds here include ficus, monstera, snake plants, to name a few.

8. Shrubbery – preserved moss frames & plant-related items

Shrubbery is a relatively new spot in Klang Valley, having only opened their doors back in 2020. They’re a new venture by Ohsum Mossum founded by artist Ronnie Khoo in 2015, which is known for their botanical installations at cafes and malls, and creative terrarium workshops.
At Shrubbery, their botany and lifestyle shop in Petaling Jaya, you can shop for curated potted plants, terrariums, moss frames, plant accessories, and other plant-related lifestyle items such as cushion covers and blouses.

You can join a workshop to create your own preserved moss artwork. Otherwise, you can look at purchasing readily available ones at their physical store that’re priced between RM250-1,000.
Terrariums, with preserved moss and dried flowers in glass cases, are other interesting pieces to shop for here. These require no care, but will add a charming green touch to your rooms all the same. Prices for these start at RM150.
