Seven new zones in Ampang & Putrajaya
Opting for public transportation means we get to skip the headache of being stuck behind the wheel in traffic. But with the nearest train stations still a drive away from home or the office for most of us, we still have to figure out how to get from point A to B.
Besides opting for the bus or an e-hailing ride, there’s Rapid KL On-Demand, which has expanded its service to include seven new operational zones in the Klang Valley.
A total of 33 operational zones in Klang Valley
Previously called Demand Responsive Transit (DRT), the On-Demand service from Rapid KL now covers seven new zones in Ampang and Putrajaya, as announced on 27th March 2025.
They include Kampung Ampang Indah-Taman Sri Watan, Ampang Hilir-Kampung Datuk Keramat, and LRT Ampang-Ampang Jaya, each served by four vans under Trok Rides. Additionally, two vans each from Kummute will be allocated to MRT Putrajaya Sentral-Precincts 14 and 16, Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), MRT Putrajaya Sentral-Cybersouth Dengkil, and Desa Pinggiran Putra-Desa Gemilang Putrajaya zones.

The service was previously expanded to cover the following areas on 1st February:
- Taman Desa – Old Klang Road (Trek Rides)
- LRT Bangsar – Taman Bandaraya (Trek Rides)
- MRT Putrajaya Sentral – Presint 11 (Kummute)
- Taman Genting Setapak – Setapak (Kummute)
This expansion brings the total number of operational zones to 33 in the Klang Valley, with 93 vans now servicing commuters in these areas. The service aims to provide seamless connectivity, especially for routes that have links with train services and the Jalan Ampang bus lane.
Only RM1 per trip
You can book a seat on an On-Demand Van either with the Mobi, Trek Rides, or Kummute app, depending on the area you live in. The service is available from 6am to 11.30pm, daily.
The promotional fare of RM1 per journey has been extended until further notice.
Users can make payments using various methods, including the Touch ‘n Go Card, MyRapid Concession Card, OKU Smile Travel Pass, and Unlimited Travel Pass, including My50, MyCity & Family Pass, when they tap in and out on a van.
MyRapid also announced on its website that passengers can now use their debit and credit cards to pay for rides, from 27th March onward. This will be rolled out in stages, beginning with the seven new zones. All fleets will have an open-payment system by May 2025.
More fleets and zones in the future for commuters
With plans to add 320 new vans to the service by June, more public transport users will have an alternate transportation mode to a train station from their destination and vice versa. The expansion will also see operational zones increasing from 37 to 101 nationwide, so more of us can have this option.
