182cm-tall banknote bouquet worth RM50,000
Flower bouquets are common gifts that we send our loved ones to show that we care. But another gift idea becoming popular alongside assortment of flowers are “banknote bouquets” made of money rolled up to look like flowers. Take for instance, this woman in Sabah who received a bouquet of banknotes worth RM29,000 for her 29th birthday.
More recently is this man who sent his wife a bouquet of banknotes worth a whopping RM50,000 made with RM100 bills. The florist behind the bouquet has been sharing on her social media pages photos and videos of the 182cm-tall bouquet being carried and delivered to them, which took a lorry and several assistants to complete its delivery.
Bouquet took 17 hours to complete
On 3rd April 2021, Safiyah Alias, the woman who made the extravagant gift, shared a TikTok video of the RM50,000 banknote bouquet that was ordered by a man in Terengganu for his wife as a show of love and appreciation for her role as a mother and wife.
The viral video, which has garnered over 2 million views at the time of writing, showed Safiyah just barely making it out of a lift and walking down the hallway with the larger-than-life banknote bouquet. It reportedly comes in at 182cm in height – taller than most Malaysians, who clock in at around 160cm tall.

In an interview with Harian Metro, Safiyah said it took her 17 hours to put together the banknote bouquet, and she completed the project a day right before it was delivered. It was also the highest-valued bouquet she’d ever made, and she said that she was thankful to her clients for trusting her with such a hefty sum. Previous banknote bouquets she had done were worth between RM34,000-RM37,000.
The bouquet was also part of her side hustle, as she works as a sale assistant at a florist in Terengganu.
To commemorate the personal accomplishment, she opted to post the video to share her new record for 2021.

To ensure that the banknotes are not damaged, she shared that she used tape instead of a stapler to get them to stay in their rolled-up forms. The result is a stunning display of rolled-up purple RM100 banknotes arranged in a huge heart shape, with baby’s breath flowers peeking from within the notes and surrounding it.
Delivering a 182cm-tall banknote bouquet is no small feat
After her initial TikTok video went viral, Safiyah shared another video of how the bouquet was delivered a few days later on 6th April.

While most bouquets can be delivered via car or even motorcycle, the banknote bouquet that was commissioned from her required a lorry for delivery. Several assistants were also needed to help lift the bouquet out of the vehicle. But it may not be all too heavy as it seems, as Safiyah’s first TikTok video that went viral shows her carrying the bouquet on her own.
