Sunway Square Mall guide
On the upper level, bibliophiles bury their noses in books at a 24-hour bookstore. Outside, pets and their humans stroll around a serene lake. And on the lower floor, the famished are fueling up at a restaurant.
Welcome to Sunway Square Mall. The 300,000sqft shopping mall is set to open on 11th December 2025, in the middle of Petaling Jaya’s bustling Sunway City.
Here’s a first look at the new mall, so you know what to expect on opening day.

Sunway Square Mall may be close to Sunway Pyramid and Sunway Geo, but there are things to look out for at the upcoming 4-storey mall that you can only find here.
It has an impressive mix of shops and anchor tenants, with a focus on food, to cater to shoppers from near and far, and students and workers in the area.
A highlight at the mall is The Library by BookXcess, proudly dubbed as the largest 24-hour bookstore in Southeast Asia by the budget bookstore chain. Yup, you read that right – the bookstore doesn’t sleep.
Popular bakery-restaurant Kenny Hills Bakers will also operate inside the bookshop, so you can grab a bite with your next great read.

And the part we’ve all been waiting for – the food.
The first-in-Malaysia Gokoku Japanese Bakery is set to open at the mall. The bakery, which hails from Kobe, has been churning out healthy breads made with quality ingredients and hearty grains since 1961.
On the other side of things, we spotted familiar names like Nine Dragon Char Chan Tang, Richeese Factory, Bashujiayan, and Shabuyaki by Nippon Sushi, offering everything from Hong Kong breakfast staples to crispy fried chicken.

You won’t run out of options for coffee and matcha either, as we spotted names like 103 Coffee and Super Matcha. There are also go-to spots such as ZUS Coffee and Luckin Coffee.
If you’re leaning more towards tea, head to the Chagee, Beutea, ChaPanda, or ChaTraMue outlets here.

Sunway Square Mall overlooks Sunway South Quay Lake, with dedicated lifts for shoppers to head down to the lake. The lake hosts leisurely water activities and events, like an upcoming New Year’s countdown, and is pet-friendly, so you don’t have to leave your doggo at home when you’re spending a day out at this mall.

The mall sits just across Sunway Medical Centre, along Jalan Lagoon Selatan. It’s roughly a 7-minute walk from the SunMed BRT station, and easily accessible by vehicle on the LDP and ELITE highways.
