‘The Apothecary Diaries’ at Dimension Poptown in KL
There will be no poison testing as the royal court of The Apothecary Diaries is making a grand entrance at Kuala Lumpur. Fans of the anime will be delighted to know that Maomao and the ensemble of characters will be making a debut at a themed pop-up cafe in Bukit Bintang.
Since its anime adaptation, the series has grown in popularity globally. There is even a dedicated exhibition of the anime, which is expected to take place in Kuala Lumpur sometime in 2026.
Starting from 29th November 2025 onwards, Maomao, Jinshi, and the rest of the characters are coming to LaLaport BBCC at a pop-up cafe featuring themed treats and goodies from the anime.
What to expect at ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ pop-up cafe?

The anime-themed pop-up cafe also took place in Singapore and Thailand, and will open in KL at Dimension Poptown in LaLaport BBCC. The pop-up will feature a character-themed dining menu and character merchandise, such as badges, acrylic stands, and keychains.

Themed treats & merch at ‘The Apothecary Diaries’ pop-up
Characters from the anime like Maomao, Jinshi, and the major consorts will have their own themed dishes and drinks. Each menu item also comes with complimentary merchandise that features each distinct character.

Ordering a character-themed dessert comes with a complimentary paper card of that character in an iconic scene for you to bring home. The price for each dessert is priced at RM33, with options like chocolate mantous, parfaits, and ice cream.

Meanwhile, ordering a main course comes with two complimentary items: a placemat and a scene paper card featuring a character. Main courses cost RM38 each, with options of chicken skewers, pasta, and a butterfly pea flower rice plate among other dishes.
Besides food and drinks, there is a dedicated merchandise space for you to browse and shop when you’re done indulging in the dishes.
The pop-up store carries a variety of character merchandise, ranging from small trinkets like badges and acrylic keychains to larger merchandise like purses and character acrylic stands to take home.

Besides Maomao and Jinshi, you can spot the royal consorts, Gyokuyou and Lihua, as part of the merchandise line-up.
