Tutti Frutti Has A New Outlet In Bukit Bintang With Special Flavours For KL-ites To Indulge In Froyo After Shopping

Tutti Frutti in Bukit Bintang

Millennials and Gen Zs might recall lining up outside Tutti Frutti for their frozen yoghurt in the early 2000s. But sadly, those days didn’t last long as the brand began closing down all their outlets in Malaysia back in 2016.

What we didn’t see coming when ushering in 2023 is the American-based frozen yoghurt store making a comeback – they opened an outlet in Bukit Damansara early this year. Now, they have a new glasshouse shop located in the heart of KL at Bukit Bintang, with new menu items such as charcoal and strawberry froyo flavours.

New flavours and July specials at Tutti Frutti

It might not be a collaboration with Blackpink, but this new froyo flavour at Tutti Frutti’s latest KL outlet will certainly remind you of the popular K-pop girl group.

A cup of this delicious swirl of black charcoal and pink strawberry frozen yoghurt is a treat for both the tummy and eyes – so have your phone ready in hand to snap shots for the ‘Gram when you’re scooping up some of the frozen goodness.

Besides the black and pink froyo, you can mix and match any other two flavours offered at Tutti Frutti, including their July specials: the Mixed Berries, Mango Lemon Pie, Cotton Candy, and Strawberry Punch.

Their frozen yoghurt is available in two cup sizes – Small (RM15.90/5oz) and Medium (RM18.90/8oz) – and you can choose any three complimentary toppings to pair with your froyo.

Once you’ve decided on what froyo combo to get, you can take your pick between indoor and outdoor seats at Tutti Frutti’s newest outlet that is strategically located in Bukit Bintang, just across Fahrenheit88.

Housed in a glasshouse shop reminiscent of a botanic garden, the outlet lets you enjoy your froyo and people-watch from behind its floor-to-ceiling glass windows. If you prefer to dine outdoors, you can opt for a seat outside – fret not about the glare of the sun, because each dining table is equipped with a patio umbrella.

Here’s our review

We ordered the charcoal-strawberry froyo combo, and paired it with pomegranate seeds, sunflower crumbles, and dark chocolate sauce. The trio of toppings harmoniously blended with the fruity taste of strawberry yoghurt and the mild sweetness of charcoal yoghurt, resulting in an enjoyable treat perfect for any hot afternoon.

If you’re unsure of what toppings to get with over 15 of them offered at Tutti Frutti, we recommend the three above.

The pomegranate seeds added a pleasant tartness to the froyo, and biting into one felt like crushing a sour popping candy in our mouth – but with less intense pops, of course. Likewise, the sunflower crumbles and dark chocolate sauce added a nice nuttiness and subtle bitterness that took the charcoal-strawberry froyo to the next level and made each scoop well-balanced in terms of flavour.

Desserts are always irresistible, especially when it comes to refreshing ones like Tutti Frutti’s froyo. With the frozen yoghurt joint opening a new outlet in the heart of KL, you can pop in for a cup of their creamy and melty goodness after exploring shopping malls and attractions in the area.
