UNIQLO’s New Roadside Store In KL’s DA Square Has Goodie Bags & Gift Totes For First-Comers

First UNIQLO roadside store at DA Square, Bandar Sri Damansara

Malaysians were more than thrilled when UNIQLO announced their new roadside store in DA Square, Bandar Sri Damansara on 10th November 2020. While many of us have already been making trips to their outlets at our nearby malls, their new spacious standalone store will feature only UNIQLO products for those who can’t get enough of their comfy clothes.

With December just around the corner, this new UNIQLO store now has an official opening date – 18th December 2020 – just in time for end-of-year Christmas shopping. The 15,000sqft store – about the size of 3 basketball courts – will feature UTme!, a service that lets shoppers make personalised T-shirts, as well as a whole slew of LifeWear apparel that we know and love from their stores. There’ll also be limited goodie bags for first-comers swinging by bright and early at 10AM for the store’s opening day.

New DA Square megastore with UTme & ample parking space

We’re no strangers to the struggle of trying to find parking spaces at our favourite malls in KL for shopping sprees. This is why you’ll be glad to know that this new roadside megastore at DA Square has a same-level spacious parking lot to boot that’s designated just for its shoppers. It’ll come in handy for those travelling with the elderly or disabled, or who have young ones to hold onto, as you won’t have to wait for cramped elevators to get into the store.

The store will be located in DA Square at Damansara Avenue, which is a new retail and lifestyle space that’ll be home to F&Bs such as Starbucks and The Brew House. While it’s set to open mid-December, we can start getting hyped for a full range of UNIQLO apparel for women, men, and children that’ll be conveniently available all in one spot.

This means that those who have been keeping up with their stores’ offerings can expect to find their newest seasonal collections alongside their comfy LifeWear apparel, that features everything from stretchy leggings to hoodies and knitwear.

But if you’re a fan of more than just UNIQLO’s clothes, you’ll get to snag their latest offerings of AIRism bedsheets, duvet covers, and pillow covers off the shelves at the new store too. These had only been available online ever since they landed on our shores back in September 2020, and now shoppers will get to feel how soft they are before purchasing them to keep cool at night in the Malaysian heat.

Those with a creative eye will be glad to know that this new UNIQLO store will feature UTme! customising services too. They’ll let shoppers create their own t-shirt (RM79.90/adult) and tote bag (RM79.90) designs with images from their phone’s camera roll. Currently, this service is only offered at their Fahrenheit88 outlet in Malaysia.

No worries at all if designing is not your strong suit. UNIQLO partners with local brands and artists – with past collaborations including BendangStudio and graffiti-artist Kenji Chan – for original UT designs. So start off by piecing together designs from these collabs, and add on your own texts and extra designs for a one-of-a-kind T-shirt to bring home.

Other sections to look out for

Other sections within the store worth dropping by include a sustainability corner and a spot for accessories such as shoes and bags.

The sustainability corner lets you learn about how UNIQLO reuses plastic bottles and old clothes to make new ones.

And this is the only store in Malaysia with a dedicated section for accessories such as shoes and bags, where you’ll find everything from comfy trainers and pumps to colourful bags to match any outfit.

Freebies for firstcomers at new UNIQLO roadside store

Those planning to swing by on their opening day will get to take home goodie bags. Each will come with exclusive UNIQLO items, including upcycled denim card holders. Don’t expect to find these sold in stores, as they’re specially crafted by underprivileged mothers out of spare fabric from clothing alterations which UNIQLO provides to its customers.

You’ll want to stop by as early as possible once they open their doors at 10AM, as these goodie bags are limited to the first 500 customers of the day. But you can try your luck on the following days, with goodie bags available to the first 500 customers from 18th December to 20th December 2020.

If you’re planning to splurge big for year-end shopping, you’ll get the chance to score a free UNIQLO 2020 Fall-Winter tote bag for purchases of over RM200. These are available on a first-come first-serve basis on the store’s first 3 days of operations too, so those looking to get this freebie will want to drop by early as well.

First UNIQLO roadside store to open on 18th December

So we’re more than excited about this new UNIQLO roadside store that has everything the store is known best for, from its clothes and AIRism bedding to UTme! services.

As COVID-19 is still a cause for concern in Malaysia, be sure to maintain social distancing and adhere to SOPs that the store has in place if you’re planning on dropping by on its opening date, such as checking your temperature, sanitising your hands, and checking in for contact tracing.
