Woman Shares How A Security Guard Waited For Her Return In Her Johor Home, Police Report Lodged

Woman shares footage of guard who broke into her home

Malaysia is a generally safe place to live in. But no country is without crime. So it never hurts to keep extra safe – which is likely the reason why many individuals are equipping their homes with security cameras.

On 13th February 2022, a woman in Johor shared how a security guard in her residential area had broken into her home. Footage caught on her CCTV showed the man changing clothes inside her house, and appearing to wait on her return. A police report has since been lodged following the alarming incident.

Footage showing intruder’s alarming actions

Yuyun Nissa recounted the incident on her Facebook page of the security guard in her home.

On 10th February, at midnight, she was driving home from dinner when her CCTV app notified her of movement detected in her home. Puzzled, she took a look at the footage and was dumbfounded when she saw a figure of a man sauntering about in her house.

Upon a closer look, she noticed from his outfit that he was the security guard of her housing area.

The series of videos she posted showed the guard walking in to charge his phone. He then proceeded to remove his jacket and trousers, before picking up his phone and taking a seat on the living room sofa.

The video also showed him fiddling with his phone.

She received a Whatsapp message from him, just moments after she checked her CCTV. According to a screenshot of the message that she posted, he had sent her a couple of short texts around 12AM. The security guard even tried calling her at one point.

Terrified, she quickly made a call to her sister and brother-in-law, who lived nearby. Through the CCTV footage, it showed the security guard peeking out of the curtains, presumably when Yuyun’s sister and brother-in-law arrived at her home.

He is said to have fled the house then, leaving behind his security guard uniform in his haste.

Yuyun Nissa wasted no time in lodging a report at the police station. Fortunately, the security guard was arrested the following day. It was alleged by Yuyun that the guard was involved in a drug case.

In an interview with mStar, she shared that her family had just moved into her rental home in Pasir Gudang, Johor in December 2021. The suspect is said to be a 22-year-old Malaysian, who had been working for three months.

Investigations ongoing after guard broke into her home

In her Facebook post, Yuyun Nissa also mentioned that the case is currently still under investigation. She said that she had no idea how the security guard had managed to enter her home, but nonetheless thanked the police for their prompt action.

As it seemed like he did not break into her house to steal, she was aware that he had other bad intentions instead, and voiced how thankful she was that neither she nor her kids were home.

“I am grateful that nothing terrible happened, and would like to remind everyone to constantly be alert and aware of your surroundings. Though we may be living in an area with security, it may not necessarily be safe,” she wrote.

Prioritising our safety

We’re glad that Yuyun managed to escape a potentially dangerous situation, and that her properties were unharmed. If you live alone and come home to things looking out of place, it’s important for us to prioritise our safety and never hesitate to call a friend or alert authorities to keep safe.
