7,289 new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia
Malaysia has recorded daily COVID-19 cases in the 6,000 since 19th May 2021. And today, 25th May, we’re seeing a worrisome new record high of daily cases breaching the 6K mark, with 7,289 new confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded nationwide.
Selangor records over 2,600 cases
Of the total new cases recorded today, Selangor reported the most cases, racking in 2,642 new cases, as shared by KKM.
The state of Johor (664) recorded the second-highest number of cases, followed by KL (604), Sarawak (513), Kelantan (425), and Negeri Sembilan (410).
Perlis (8), Putrajaya (23) and Labuan (63) recorded the lowest daily case numbers today.

Today’s total number surpasses the previous highest daily cases recorded of 6,976 on Sunday, 23rd May.
The total COVID-19 cases in Malaysia currently stands at 525,889, with the addition of 7,289 cases today.
COVID-19 cases breach 7K mark on 25th May
Malaysians have been advised to practise “self–lockdown“, or staying at home and only going out for essentials, amidst the rise in COVID-19 cases in the past week in our country. With today’s cases pushing pass the 7K mark, it’s safe to say that we should all be trying our best to put this into practice so we can help curb the spread of COVID-19 that is affecting our communities.
