The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and his wife Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah were also tested for COVID-19 following the incident. Their results came back negative.

Malaysia currently has 21 COVID-19-related deaths. And the number of confirmed cases have been increasing steadily to nearly 1,800. This leaves us with the highest number of cases in Southeast Asia.

Our Agong has been pretty hands-on in tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. He has recently been making appearances at police road blocks, helping to monitor the Movement Control Order. He also expressed his appreciation for those who’re working on the front lines like police officers.

In the meantime, the Raja Permaisuri Agong has also been giving a helping hand to hospital staff. She went out of her way to make home-cooked meals for hospital staff who’ve been working hard to tend to COVID-19 patients.

This incident goes to show just how quickly COVID-19 can spread, especially where you least expect it. We hope the Agong and his wife will be safe during their 14-day quarantine as Malaysia moves to eradicate the virus for good.
