The full West Coast Line electrification is expected to be completed by the end of 2025 after several delays, extending rail service from KL Sentral all the way to JB Sentral.
Currently, the train runs from KL Sentral to Kluang and vice versa, with journeys departing at 7.45am and return trips departing at 5.15pm. The journey takes approximately 3.5 hours, which is similar in time to a journey travelled by vehicle but sans the traffic jams during trips, of course.
There are several stops between KL and Kluang, which are: Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang, Seremban, Pulau Sebang, Batang Melaka, Gemas, Segamat, Labis, Bekok, and Paloh.

The launch of the KL-Kluang route was officiated by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, the King of Malaysia and Sultan of Johor, on 30th August. The event marked the formal start of the ETS3 service to Kluang. The launch also coincided with the opening of Laman Rel Mahkota, a 2.8-kilometer public park built beneath the viaduct of the Gemas-Johor Bahru Electrified Double Track project.
Travel on the ETS from KL Sentral to KluangÂ
The ETS extension to Kluang means we can now access more of Johor by rail service. It also means that we’re one step closer to seamless travel all the way down to Johor Bahru.
