Aesop Has A Pop-Up Women’s Library At 3 Malaysia Malls, Visitors Can Bring Home A Free Book By A Local Author

Aesop Malaysia Women’s Library

A woman’s worth isn’t just measured by her beauty. They have stories, voices, dreams, and ideas that are above what society expects of them.

To foster this spirit, Aesop Malaysia is launching a pop-up Women’s Library at three stores in KL and Penang in end-May and June respectively. The library will feature books by local female authors, and the best part for bibliophiles – you can bring home a complimentary book from well-known Malaysian authors such as Hanna Alkaf and Viji Krishnamoorthy with no purchase required.

You may be familiar with Aesop as a luxury skincare brand with products meticulously displayed on shelves in their stylish and minimalist stores. So you may be confused to find their ubiquitous bottles swapped out for books if you happen to chance upon Aesop stores in The Gardens Mall and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur in KL, and in Gurney Plaza over in Penang, in the coming Fridays and weekends.

Following the success of Aesop Women’s Library in Singapore, the brand plans to continue its aim of empowering women in the Southeast Asian region by bringing the library to Malaysia.

To be held over the course of three days, Aesop Women’s Library will be arriving at these three stores in Malaysia:

  • Aesop Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur: 26th-28th May
  • Aesop The Gardens Mall, Kuala Lumpur: 26th-28th May
  • Aesop Gurney Plaza, Penang: 2nd-4th June

The shelves of the participating Aesop stores in Malaysia will be filled with a collection of books by female authors, in place of the usual minimalist beauty products. The curated selection of books include recommendations from six collaborating publishing houses: Lit Books, Clarity Publishing, Cite Book Garden, Gerak Budaya Kuala Lumpur, Penwings Publishing, and Buku Fixi.

Find a diverse collection of over 20 literature titles that spotlight four female Malaysian authors: Viji Krishnamoorthy, Leong Ching Foon, Hanna Alkaf, and Alina Rastan.

The podcast can also be streamed online on Spotify and Apple Music
