NCT Dream’s Pop-up Store In KL Opens Till 21st May, Fans Can Snag T-Shirts & Lightsticks For Their Upcoming Concert

NCT Dream opens pop-up store at Pavilion Bukit Jalil

The month of May is looking to be a dream for Malaysian fans of the K-pop group, NCT Dream. There was the announcement of the group’s very first solo concert in Malaysia on 20th May 2023 – and now a pop-up store in Kuala Lumpur at Pavilion Bukit Jalil

Open from 17th to 21st May, the NCT Dream Pop-up Store: Get Ready Dream is where you can snag NCT Dream merch based on their songs such as photocards, stationery, and apparel – just in time for their upcoming concert.

We popped by the pop-up store on its opening day to bring you this guide of what you can find there.

Over 40 merch items, including apparel & NCT’s official lightstick

Themed Get Ready Dream, NCT Dream’s pop-up store in KL is based on the group’s ongoing tour called The Dream Show 2 – which happens to have a tour date scheduled in our capital city.

Previously making stops in several regions including China, The Philippines, and Singapore, the pop-up store is now in Malaysia and it features 40 exclusive merchandise items inspired by the band’s hit tracks.

Fans can look forward to purchasing a collection of adorable merch themed Get Ready Dream, Candy, and Glitch Mode. We spotted stickers (RM50) and washi tape (RM23) with illustrations inspired by the Dreamies at the pop-up store.

Besides the cute stationery, you can get your hands on apparel including T-shirts (RM190), ball caps (RM170), and socks (RM25) to rep the band at their upcoming Malaysia concert – or even when you’re out on a grocery run.

Each garb is designed specifically to the themes. The Get Ready Dream and Candy T-shirts feature bold graphics and letterings on black, while the Glitch Mode-themed T-shirt has multi-coloured “Glitch Mode” sprawled on the front.

Czennies with binders of photocards at home won’t want to miss out on the 4cut Photo + Binder Set (RM70), which comprises polaroid-style photos of the members and a baby-blue binder featuring NCT Dream’s adorable Candy characters on the cover.

There’s also the Tincase + 7 Photo Set (RM85) – a photo set of the band is tucked within a tin case in black or silver that can be used to store your collection of photocards or other personal items.

If you have yet to get your hands on NCT’s official light stick, you can purchase it for RM250 here to join the lightstick ocean at the concert and not feel #fomo.

How to purchase merch at the pop-up store

To help fans get their hands on merch without the snaking queues, the pop-up store has a couple of easy purchasing steps to follow. This includes indicating items you wish to get on a brochure with a catalogue of all the merch available at the pop-up store and their prices.

This will be handed out to shoppers queueing to enter the store.

Further making shopping a breeze for fans, the merch are displayed around the store so you can see how the items look like IRL before deciding on just what to get. They also make for great photo ops, with several of them carefully displayed in vibrant yellow lockers.

After you’ve filled up the brochure, simply hand it over to a helpful staff at one of three cashiers. Proceed to make a payment – Touch ‘n Go e-Wallet, cash, credit card, and debit card are accepted at the store – and then head over to the collection counter to pick up your merch.

Fret not if you aren’t able to head down to the physical pop-up store in person. The goods will also be available to purchase online on Konshop – but we recommend doing your shopping early, as the online store will only be open on a while-stocks-last basis.

A heartthrob septet with a loyal following

For the uninitiated, NCT Dream is a subunit of NCT, K-pop’s largest boy band – literally with 23 members. The septet – comprising Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung – debuted with dynamic and fresh songs, exuberant styles, and vigorous choreography.

Some of their infectiously enrapturing tween hits – such as Chewing Gum and My First and Last – along with the members’ endearing brotherhood, earned the Dreamies a loyal following since their debut.

But the younger brothers of K-pop aren’t so young anymore. From performing hoverboard tricks and being young rebels in LA to capturing hearts on sleek motorbikes, NCT Dream comes of age along with their music as they grow and mature into adulthood.

They’ve also released grungier tracks such as Boom, Quiet Down, and Ridin’ – which brought in a surge of younger female fans and earned them a heartthrob status.

Their recent comebacks also saw 7Dream returning to their more youthful and carefree roots. NCT Dream’s chart-topping eclectic tracks such as Hot Sauce, Hello Future, Glitch Mode, Beatbox, and Candy retain the young panache that they are adored for – but with a sharper and more matured attitude.

The boys of NCT Dream are in the midst of the world tour The Dream Show 2, impressively selling out shows in numerous cities. They will be holding their first solo concert in Malaysia on 20th May, so NCTzens can finally see 7Dream perform their songs that are healing, spirited, and full of heart.
