Internet-Famous Bobby’s Burgers Is Now Open At The Exchange TRX With Smash Burgers & Beef Tallow Fries

Bobby’s Burgers at The Exchange TRX

When we want juicy patties between buttered buns, we have homegrown burger joints in Klang Valley to turn to beyond our go-to fast food chains. But more is always merrier, especially when it comes to food.

You may be a follower, or someone hearing about him for the first time, but Indonesia’s Bobby’s Burgers by internet-famous, Le Cordon Bleu-alumni Bobby Saputra has opened at The Exchange TRX. And it has smash burgers with Angus beef patties that may be hard to ignore.

What is Bobby’s Burgers?

Plastered next to the menu of Bobby’s Burgers in Kuala Lumpur is the face of Ben Sumadiwiria and the words “Time to eat like a billionaire”. He’s better known to Indonesians and the internet by his eccentric online persona, Bobby Saputra, a ‘billionaire’ who flaunts his wealth and lifestyle on TikTok.

Having already established two Bobby’s Burgers outlets in Indonesia, the internet personality made his first overseas expansion with an outpost in Malaysia at The Exchange TRX, which opened in March 2026.

The compact burger joint sits on the concourse level of the mall, near the food court, with seats for around 15 diners. Two counter seats are also available for those who want a front-row view of the burger-making action, though be warned – it can get quite smoky.

What to order at Bobby’s Burgers

The menu at Bobby’s Burgers has only three main items: smash burgers made with beef angus patties, fries fried with beef tallow, and fries loaded with smashburger toppings.

Despite dining in during busy lunch hours, orders flew out relatively quickly as other patrons, including ourselves, got our respective orders in about 15 minutes.

Bobby’s Double Burger

Bobby’s Double Burger features two smashed Angus beef patties, layered with thinly sliced onions, gooey American cheese, crisp pickles, and a generous spread of the restaurant’s signature Billionaire Sauce between two slices of buttered burger buns.

Despite their thinness, the beef patties were top-notch and everything you want out of a smashburger – meaty, juicy, and slightly crispy at the edges. The thinly sliced onions were cooked to perfection, transforming into beautifully caramelised onion ribbons that added a sweet, mellow onion flavour to every bite.

Together with the crisp pickles, melted cheese, and Billionaire Sauce – the restaurant’s rendition of Thousand Island sauce – every element came together to make for a truly solid smash burger.

Bobby’s Double Burger is priced at RM24 à la carte, or RM30 if you add a side of Tallow Fries.

Tallow Fries

No burger joint is complete without fries on the side, and Bobby’s Burgers knows this well.

What sets the Tallow Fries (RM10) apart from regular fries is the cooking medium. Instead of the usual vegetable or canola oil, this spot uses 100% beef tallow to blister their fries. The use of beef tallow adds a crisp perfection to each fry, without adding any flavour of its own, so the natural potato-ey flavour of the fries stands out instead.

Filthy Fries

Filthy Fries (RM18) is true to its name. It came generously loaded with crumbled angus beef patty, melted American cheese, and a good pour of that tangy and creamy Billionaire Sauce.

The combination of the three ingredients made for a delicious side that was difficult to resist second helpings, despite its artery-clogging abilities.

Is it really a burger that’s worth bragging about? Maybe.

Bobby’s Burgers at The Exchange TRX is a textbook example of what a good burger joint should be. The menu keeps things deliberately simple, with each item executed well.
