If J-pop is dominating your music playlist in recent days, here’s a festival coming to Kuala Lumpur that you’ll want on your radar: Central Music & Entertainment Festival.

Following a successful showcase in Malaysia in 2025, the Yokohama-born music festival returns this year on 1st August 2026 at Zepp KL, with a lineup that includes KANABOON and Tatsuya Kitani, both popular for singing anime theme songs.

What is Central Music & Entertainment Festival?

Central Music & Entertainment Festival is a music festival with roots in Yokohama, Japan. To bring Japanese music to the rest of the world, the Japanese festival has gone global, with a curated lineup of J-pop and independent artists taking the stage across cities in Asia.

In Kuala Lumpur, the festival is in its second edition, with a 1-night show scheduled for 1st August.


Who’s performing at the Central Music & Entertainment Festival?


Attendees can look forward to a night of beloved anime anthems, as this year’s lineup features artists who have lent their voices to some of the world’s most popular anime titles.

There’s KANABOON, the rock band that sang the iconic Silhouette from Naruto Shippuden and Starmaker from My Hero Academia, and Tatsuya Kitani, the Japanese singer-songwriter who sang Jujutsu Kaisen’s hit opening theme song Where Our Blue Is. ReoNa, who performed Sword Art Online ballads, will also take the stage.

Up-and-coming artists joOji and Sony Music’s four-member girl group kiOra are also part of the lineup, bringing new energy to the stage and giving the crowd plenty of new hits to dance to.

Tickets for Central Music & Entertainment Festival in KL are categorised into three groups, with prices starting from RM268. Tickets will go on sale at Fantopia’s website on 25th May, from 12pm onwards.

  • Rock Zone B (Standing): RM268
  • Upper Level (Seated): RM298
