China Airlines has Pokémon-themed flights from Penang
Pokémon is a universally loved franchise that’s also a nostalgic part of many of our childhoods. This has led to numerous impressive, and even out-of-this-world, collaborations that never fail to excite those who adore Pikachu and friends.
Here’s yet another exciting Pokémon collab to catch – China Airlines‘ exclusive Pokémon-themed liveried aircraft named the Pikachu Jet CI with a unique in-flight experience. Malaysians can experience this unique Pikachu-inspired journey in the skies when flying from Penang to Taiwan with the airlines come March.

For avid Pokémon fans, expressing your love for the franchise isn’t limited to collecting trading cards and adorable plushies anymore.
In collaboration with The Pokémon Company, China Airlines now joins the ranks of “Pokémon Air Adventures” with the unveiling of a Pokémon-themed jet that’ll embark on flights to several cities in Asia – including Penang.

Named Pikachu Jet CI, the customized livery’s body has been given a dreamy “starry night” makeover – think twinkling stars against a pastel canvas of lilac, pink, and orange reminiscent of an evening sky. Also on the fuselage are 11 Pokémon that fans all know and love, including Pikachu, Shaymin, Swablu, Togekiss, Munna, Jigglypuff, Snorlax, Slowpoke and Teddiursa.
For Malaysians interested in flying on a Pokémon-themed airplane, the Pikachu Jet CI will make trips to and fro between Taoyuan International Airport and Penang International Airport from 26th March till 30th June.

Besides Penang, the planes will also fly between Taoyuan International Airport and Naha Airport (Japan), Takamatsu Airport (Japan), Da Nang International Airport (Vietnam), and Hong Kong International Airport (Hong Kong) from 1st January to 25th March.

Keeping with the Pokémon theme on the inside of the plane as well, the Pikachu Jet CI features a pastel-coloured cabin and flight attendants donning violet Pikachu-themed aprons. Settle in for an onboard snooze with Pikachu cushions and seat rest covers. You can also pick from a selection of 10 Pokémon movies to accompany you on your travels in the sky.

From specially designed Pikachu hand wipes and paper cups to stationery sets that you can purchase, you’ll feel thoroughly immersed in the world of Pokémon on these flights. There’re even adorable Pikachu-themed meals and limited edition Pikachu snack packs that you can fuel up with onboard.

To cap off the fun, passengers will also be given Pikachu boarding passes and baggage tags upon checking in to their flight – perfect as tokens to remember your one-of-a-kind experience in the air.
