6,075 new cases in Malaysia today
The nationwide MCO 3.0 has been in place for exactly a week now, since 12th May 2021.
Showing that the cause for concern is not yet over here, on 19th May, Malaysia recorded 6,075 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, as reported by KKM. This marks the highest number of daily cases in Malaysia ever, with the previous highest number of cases in Malaysia at 5,728 cases, on 30th January 2021.
Selangor recorded over 2,200 new cases
Of the total daily cases recorded today, Selangor had the most cases, with 2,251 new cases contributing to the total number of 6,075.
Following after with cases in the 3 digits are Johor (699), KL (660), and Kedah (445).
Perlis (6), Putrajaya (9) and Labuan (14) are states that saw a small win, as their cases were much lower.

All in all, Malaysia has recorded a total 485,496 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic – just a few thousands shy of half a million.
Also shared by KKM today on Facebook is a breakdown of cases in Malaysia, with almost all states in Peninsular Malaysia red zones and a remaining few districts in Sabah and Sarawak still green.

Confirmed COVID-19 cases hit new records in Malaysia
The government has been hard at work to keep the COVID-19 situation here under control, with the recent implementation of the MCO nationwide. With the worrisome number of daily cases recorded today, we are all reminded to keep our excursions outdoors to a minimum, and head out only for essentials errands.
