Deepavali Urban Bazaar happening on 3rd & 4th October
Deepavali may be more than a month away on 14th November 2020, but it’s never too early to start prepping for the festivities. After all, there’s nothing like a cheery bazaar filled with scents of Indian confections and snacks, vibrant rows of traditional wear, and bright lights twinkling from home decor items to set the mood for the festival of lights.
Organised by Urban Accessoriess, an online company selling traditional Indian clothes and accessories, the Urban Bazaar is back for the third time running. Held on 3rd and 4th October at the Malaysian Ceylonese National Community Centre in Taman Kanagapuram from 10AM to 8PM, the bazaar is a one-stop centre for you to stock up on all your Deepavali needs.
A bazaar supporting local entrepreneurs
The Urban Bazaar is a two-day pop up market featuring 32 vendors selling all kinds of goods ranging from food, handicrafts, handmade accessories, traditional and modern wear, and the like.

These artisanal products are mostly made and sold by small businesses and local entrepreneurs, so you should definitely drop by if you like custom clothes and footwear, and one-of-a-kind trinkets, unlike the usual commercial garments found at every other mall in Malaysia.
A myriad of vendors selling artisanal goods
The previous Urban Bazaar saw around 50 vendors bringing with them a multitude of choices for customers to feast both their tummies and eyes on.

There’ll be some returning vendors selling similar items for you to add to your collection, including @glam.mantra, an online fashion shop offering a daring take of traditional wear injected with modern trends. Those who’re into bold fashion can look forward to modern takes on kurti with cold-shoulder necklines or with striking, flared rainbow sleeves.

Finish off the look with a pair of handmade designer footwear from @perfectduoboutique. Each pair is intricately made with quality leather and embroidered painstakingly with sequins – perfect for special occasions indeed.

Deepavali wouldn’t be complete without some flavourful, mouth-watering dishes. Good thing you can stock up on spices from @therempahgirl and whip up a dish of your own using her organic spices.
