There’s A New Mall Connected To Putrajaya MRT Station With An IKEA Pop-Up, Popular Coffee Spots & More

Destina Putrajaya guide

If you regularly transit through Putrajaya Sentral Terminal, you might have noticed a new building by the bus and train hub. That’s Destina Putrajaya, a new outlet mall in Putrajaya that’s just mere steps away from the MRT and KLIA Transit platforms.

For anyone who lives or works in and around Putrajaya, consider this your new pit-stop to grab coffee, pick up a new pair of shoes, or browse through homewares, as it has popular coffee shops like Luckin Coffee and ZUS Coffee, and even an IKEA pop-up.

What is Destina Putrajaya?

Destina Putrajaya is a 2-storey transit-oriented development by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, located in Precinct 7, Putrajaya. It’s smaller than your average mall, which makes it easy to navigate and get in and out of, even if you’re on your way to another destination from here.

The mall stands apart from other nearby malls in Putrajaya, as it is designed specifically for the commuter crowd passing through Putrajaya Sentral. It’s less like a destination mall and more like a very well-stocked pitstop built right into your commute for food and quick shopping.

How to get to Destina Putrajaya?

If you’re commuting via MRT, you’ll alight at Putrajaya Sentral MRT Station, which is located one floor up from Terminal Putrajaya Sentral. Once you’re past the platform gates, head straight to the linkbridge that directly connects the station to the mall’s first floor.

Those who are coming from a bus stop at Putrajaya Sentral can utilise the exit to the left of the platform gates.

Past a crosswalk at the exit, you’ll find the mall entrance on the right, complete with a wheelchair ramp.

As for cars, there are 8 levels of parking at the mall, including dedicated Park & Ride bays for commuters. The parking rate is RM2 for the first and subsequent hour, with a maximum of RM8 on weekdays and a maximum of RM5 on weekends.

1. Toast Maker

Located next to Juice Works, near the info desk, Toast Maker will tempt you with the savoury scent of sandwiches.

While the shop here is small, the menu is substantial. Order halal-certified toasts and sandwiches with smoked teriyaki chicken and avocadoes and mushrooms that make for a pretty hearty meal whether you’re dining in or having it to-go.

The toast shop also does a solid lineup of coffee and beverages if you’re looking to have a proper breakfast or a quick lunch at a more fast-casual spot.

2. Luckin Coffee

Luckin Coffee fans, you’re in luck. The Chinese coffee chain, which has been taking over local malls with its worth-it app deals and budget-friendly prices, has landed at Destina Putrajaya. It’ll be a convenient spot to grab a pre-commute or post-commute fix of coffee or a tea drink.

3. Kenangan Coffee

It’s good news if Kenangan Coffee is your go-to spot for coffee. The Indonesian grab-and-go coffee chain, known for its handcrafted espresso drinks and tea-based beverages at reasonable prices, now has an outlet at Destina, so you have another familiar and reliable option to get your regular coffee fix.

4. Juice Works

On days when you’re not chasing caffeine, there’ll be Juice Works to pop by. The popular juice bar has an outlet at Destina Putrajaya, serving their signature fresh fruit juices, smoothies, and blended drinks. It’s a nice non-caffeinated alternative and a refreshing treat after a commute.

5. ZUS Coffee

Rounding out what is essentially Destina’s very own coffee row is ZUS Coffee, conveniently located near the entrance to the linkbridge that connects the mall to the MRT station. If you’re rushing to catch a train or bus and desperately need a coffee in hand, this coffee spot is literally the last stop before the platform.

Destina may be compact, but it’s already got a solid little fashion corner coming together.

6. IKEA Pop-Up

The IKEA pop-up at Destina Putrajaya is one of the more unexpected finds in the mall, where eateries are aplenty. Around for 6 months, the pop-up has a curated selection of essential IKEA products such as kitchenware, storage solutions, and home decor.

It’s not a full IKEA store by any means with a complete catalogue, but for residents living in and nearby Putrajaya, you can skip the trip to Damansara or Cheras and browse a good list of the best buys here. And because it wouldn’t be IKEA without the food, you can also grab frozen staples including Swedish meatballs and chicken curry puffs, as well as lingonberry spread.

7. Factory QQ

Right next to Luckin Coffee is Factory QQ, an optical store for those who need to sort out their eyewear. Whether you’re due for a new prescription, hunting for a trendier frame, or just need a quick adjustment, it’s an easy and convenient branch to visit.

8. Xes Outlet

Across from Factory QQ is Xes Outlet, a well-known Malaysian footwear chain that now has a branch at Destina Putrajaya. For their opening, the shop is running a buy-1-free-1 promotion on its wide range of shoes for men and women, including casual sneakers, sandals, and office-appropriate flats and heels, all with wallet-friendly prices.

9. M&B

M&B is one of the largest stores in the mall. The clothing store carries trendy and everyday pieces with clean silhouettes and contemporary cuts, with prices generally staying under RM200 per piece, making it a good browse if you’re after something fresh to add to your wardrobe without splurging.

Upcoming shops at Destina Putrajaya

A few outlets are still undergoing renovation but are expected to open in the coming months, so you’ll have even more reasons to visit Destina Putrajaya. Here are some of them:

  • Tealive: located on the first floor, right in front of the escalators
  • Bingxue: an affordable ice cream and drinks shop, also on the first floor
  • Big Pharmacy: on the ground floor, next to Kenangan Coffee
  • The Chicken Rice Shop: on the ground floor, across from Kenangan Coffee
  • Giant: near Kenangan Coffee, expected to open in August 2026
  • 7-Eleven: opening next to the ground floor entrance near the MRT crosswalk
