This Huge Kamen Rider Exhibition In KL Has Over 100 Life-Sized Figures & Prop Replicas Till 16th March

Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition in Malaysia

If you’re a millennial, you likely had a favourite Japanese henshin superhero series growing up. Their mesmerising transformation sequences and fantastical costumes truly hit different, compared to the – ahem – more understated superhero concepts these days.

With the launch of Hong Kong’s first INCUBASE Arena in KL, fans of old-school to modern-day animes in Malaysia can look forward to themed experiences featuring their favourite series. These include the studio’s first opening on our shores, the Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition, which has life-sized figures and prop replicas from the famed tokusatsu franchise.

We visited the exhibition so you know what to expect.

What to expect at the Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition

The Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition opens in Malaysia from 10th January to 16th March 2025, at fahrenheit88’s new INCUBASE Arena on Level 2.

Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition - FIGURES

Since it aired in 1971 over 50 years ago, the series has amassed a loyal fanbase across its various eras for its relatable insect-inspired, motorcycle-riding cyborgs. The huge exhibition in KL highlights pretty much every aspect of the popular franchise, making it the largest one yet since the conception of the series.

Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition - fan zones

The exhibition first opened in Nagoya, Japan, and toured the country before making its way to Hong Kong. Now it’s in Malaysia, so superfans of the Kamen Rider series will be treated to a recreation of the same expansive exhibition, with everything from actor costumes, TV props, and transformation gear replicas, to a Malaysia-special photo zone and photo booth to explore.

Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition - figures

Fan or not, visitors to the Kamen Rider exhibition will be in for a treat with the sheer amount of life-sized figures that you can see here. We counted at least 100 of them, spanning 30 Kamen Riders from the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.

The Malaysian-favourite Masked Rider Black – also known locally as Kesatria Baja Hitam – also makes an appearance at the exhibition.

Kamen Rider 50th Anniversary Exhibition - detail of figures

Take your time to view the figures, as the details that go into the costume recreations – henshin belts and other superhero gear – are a sight to behold. Spread throughout the exhibition and accompanied by video clips and informative plaques, the costumes were the main highlight of the showcase for us.

Kamen Rider costumes

There’s a good number of costumes worn by actors from the Japanese series too. They include the show’s first female rider Electro-Wave Human Tackle’s signature ladybug-inspired suit and Keisuke Jin’s iconic denim ‘fit.

Kamen Rider prop exhibits

Fans can geek out over the array of prop exhibits located at different locations in the exhibition. We spotted the vital Mercury Circuit, restraining micro chains stored in ZX’s arms, and Jyumenki Golgos’ iron armlet kept in glass displays and labeled with detailed descriptions.

Kamen Rider tools

Towards the end of the exhibition, a section is dedicated to replicas of the Kamen Riders’ arsenal of highly specialised tools and belts, utilised in episodes aired between 2000 and 2024.

Malaysian special photo zones

A photo zone, containing different spots for photos with Kamen Riders in front of KL landmarks, will be a special treat for Kamen Rider fans in Malaysia. Visitors will also get to bring home a complimentary postcard that comes with each ticket – there’ll be different checkpoints within the exhibition for fans to stamp away and complete a picture.
