Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2026 guide

Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) is making its return with its 14th edition, from 3rd to 9th August 2026, transforming the Esplanade at KLCC Park in Malaysia’s capital city into a runway for over 50 Malaysian designers and labels.

What to expect at KLFW 2026

The theme for KLFW 2026 is Destination: Home Ground, bringing Malaysian fashion back to its roots, while exploring how the country’s culture can move alongside contemporary design. The show gathers over 50 Malaysian designers and brands, both emerging talents and established names alike, who will unveil their latest collections.

The theme will extend beyond the clothes on the runway. Located at the Esplanade in KLCC Park, KLFW’s custom-built show space will feature a monochromatic facade inspired by archival batik prints from Yayasan Sabah, while its all-white interior will be centred around an hourglass-inspired runway.

KLFW 2026 will also revive its Fashion Forward Batik Malaysia segment in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026. Supported by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the segment will showcase 30 looks by 10 Malaysian designers, made exclusively using batik sourced from East and West Malaysia.

KLFW events that the public can catch

Although the runway shows are mostly invite-only, each presentation will be screened live on a large outdoor LED screen at the Esplanade. This means visitors around KLCC Park can watch the latest collections make their runway debuts without scoring a seat inside the show space.

Members of the public can also join fashion festivities through a series of activities held at Suria KLCC. The main public highlight is the curated Jom Malaysia pop-up, which spotlights homegrown fashion and local entrepreneurs. Visitors can also check out styling displays by fashion students at Isetan KLCC and a visual exhibition by Moccona featuring creatives from across the fashion industry.

Designers to look out for at KLFW 2026

Alongside established names, KLFW 2026 will introduce several upcoming designers to its runway for the first time. From heritage craftsmanship to performance-wear, these emerging labels are bringing distinctly different perspectives to Malaysian fashion.

PLAZÄ by Anisah Farid

Anisah Farid’s interest in fashion began while watching seamstresses work in her father’s hometown of Pontian, Johor. The London College of Fashion alumna later founded PLAZÄ to create clothing that brings heritage textiles together with contemporary craftsmanship.

For their KLFW debut, PLAZÄ will present a collection inspired by the delicate shape of a lily. The designs will feature handcrafted Nyonya embroidery created with artisans from Penang and Kelantanese songket reimagined through modern silhouettes.

Super Structure by Chan Man Chien

Multidisciplinary artist Chan Man Chien will officially launch Super Structure at KLFW 2026. The performance-wear label was inspired by the relationship between dancers, their costumes, and the stories they communicate through movement.

Designed for what Chan calls the “arthletic” body, a term combining artistic expression with athletic ability, Super Structure uses quick-dry, high-stretch fabrics to create elegant silhouettes suited to ballet and contemporary dancers.

EMRI by Emran Rijal

Founded in 2021, EMRI promotes the idea of a shared wardrobe by creating clothing that isn’t restricted by traditional fashion categories.

Its founder, Emran Rijal, is a self-taught designer who began working in fashion as a teenager. Now 26, he will bring EMRI to the KLFW runway for the first time, marking a new chapter for a label steadily establishing its voice in Malaysia’s fashion scene.

While KLFW continues to welcome emerging talent, several designers have returned year after year to help define the event and bring Malaysian fashion to a wider audience.

Rizman Ruzaini

Founded by designers Rizman Nordin and Ruzaini Jamil, Rizman Ruzaini has become one of Malaysia’s most recognisable luxury fashion houses. The label is known for its glamorous eveningwear, intricate detailing and statement-making silhouettes.

Its longstanding contribution to Malaysian fashion earned Rizman Ruzaini the Outstanding Achievement Award and Brand of the Year title at the 2023 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards. Its return to KLFW 2026 continues a relationship with the platform that has helped introduce the house’s work to audiences beyond Malaysia.

Fiziwoo

Founded by designers Hafizi Radzi Woo and Izree Kai Haffiz, Fiziwoo is known for dramatic womenswear that plays with volume, texture and unconventional silhouettes. The label was also named Womenswear Designer at the 2023 Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards.

This year, Fiziwoo will expand its universe with the debut of Woo Brothers, its new menswear label. The launch marks a new chapter for the established house as it moves beyond the womenswear collections for which it has become known.
